Never mind Kamala or Trump, Elisabeth Luard is the only President we need! We are thrilled that Dame Elisabeth Luard has been appointed as the President of the prestigious Oxford Symposium on Food and Cookery. Having already served as Chair of the Trustees for six years, Elisabeth brings a wealth of experience to the role. The Oxford Symposium’s goal is to change the conversation around food, expand the table and improve the plate, through lively debate and the annual publication of their Symposium Proceedings. Huge and well deserved congratulations, Elisabeth from all of us at LDE London. 🎉🎉🎉 Read more https://lnkd.in/dVGiqdrB

Introducing the class of 2024! 🎉🎉🎉 We are thrilled to introduce our new Chapter Members, who are joining our growing community of women leaders in food, drink and hospitality. First up, meet Rachel De Cean. Jersey-born Rachel fell in love with cooking as a child – her Mum grew her own fruit and veg and cooked everything from scratch, and her Dad was a fisherman. From a work experience placement for a Duke of Edinburgh Award, she went on to work at the Longueville Manor. During her college training, she was offered a job at Sumas restaurant and continued her studies qualifying her City and Guilds in both front and back of house. She was helping her family business when Shaun Rankin asked her to help open the soon to be Michelin starred, Bohemia, as its pastry chef. After an accident prevented her from continuing the kitchen work she retrained as a nutritionist and raw food and vegan chef. Now she mostly cooks for pleasure and a few private clients, along with running the family business and a vodka brand – Royal Mash Vodka - and still lives in Jersey. Welcome, Rachel! #WomenSupportingWomen #womeninfood #womenleaders

A glorious day at the inaugural South Downs Food Festival Stansted Park yesterday. Organised in association with the Elisabeth David Estate, the festival was opened by our very own Dame Prue Leith, who is photographed with our President Dame Jacqui Pickles, our founder Dame Sue Carter, Dame Valentina Harris and Dame Anne Dolamore. Talks, showcases, demos and an in-depth and fascinating discussion on the enduring legacy of Elizabeth David on our food landscape - this is our kind of day! #southdownfood #elisabethdavid #womeninfood

Taco Time! Come join us for Taco Tuesday! Dame Jen Greenhalgh is hosting an evening of fun, Nashville tunes and totally inauthentic Trailer Trash tacos at Bonnington Cafe in Vauxhall on October 8th from 6.30pm. Just for one night she will be producing a special menu themed around "American women who have rocked our world" so don't miss this one off night. *hint, there will absolutely be one called "the Dolly Parton"* It's BYOB and everything on the menu is priced at a princely £4! We’ll also be holding a charity raffle on the evening, with all funds raised going to the Chapter to support the work we do for women in hospitality. Bring a friend or two along for a fun social. https://lnkd.in/d_Pvy8Zg
