What does a positive workplace experience actually look like? Our data shows that 42% of workplaces are thriving, offering an outstanding employee experience. These Catalyst workplaces, or those with Lmi scores of 70.0 or above, empower employees to perform at their best, driving competitive advantage. Still, 58% of workplaces are falling short—16% of them are Obstructer environments that hinder employee performance. These workplaces, with an Lmi below 60.0, have a significant negative effect on employees, jeopardising the organisation’s opportunity to reach success. The remaining 42% of workplaces with Lmi scores of 60.0-69.9 are Enabler workplaces that provide an average, "just ok" experience. But really, these Enabler workplaces are missed opportunities, losing out on the chance to boost productivity and use a workplace as a strategic tool that fuels success. Leesman insights can help workplaces shift from just average to high-performing with outstanding experiences. #EmployeeExperience #WorkplaceTransformation #Productivity #Leadership

Let’s be clear, unassigned seating strategies were already a growing trend before 2020. While only 13% of people were using an assigned workspace in 2014, that number had already risen to 33% in 2019. The pandemic may have merely acted as a catalyst for accelerating this trend. There are many reasons why organisations may be opting for unassigned seating, but the important thing is understanding the impact on the employee experience. Register for one of our webinar sessions to hear our experts discuss the potential benefits and challenges of unassigned seating strategies, and the importance of variety in these spaces: https://lnkd.in/eXNXxtQA #LeesmanInsights #DataBriefing #UnassignedSeating #HybridWorking #WorkplaceStrategy

In contrast to their older colleagues, younger people enjoy being in the office. With an Lmi of 76.0, employees aged under 25 have the best office experience in contrast to those over the age of 55 (average Lmi of 67.7). Armed with the knowledge that young people have such different office experiences, and that many workplaces are merely average, how should employers respond? Offices need to be far more than just average. The workplace needs to compete with personalised home set-ups, which allow for greater flexibility, a better work-life balance and even outperform traditional workplaces in key areas such as noise. In 2018, ITOKI CORPORATION opened its Tokyo headquarters, ITOKI TOKYO XORK. XORK was created to be the first in Japan to fully embrace Activity Based Working and to design a way of working autonomously with a high degree of self-discretion. They continue to make annual data-driven renovations to make the office even more focused on collaboration and comfort. As a result, ITOKI achieved the Leesman+ Excellent certification in 2024. These changes are positively reflected in the employee sentiments, with respondents who agreed that ‘My workplace supports me sharing ideas/knowledge among colleagues’ increasing from 5.8% to 72.4% in 2024. These changes have contributed significantly to higher employee engagement, lower turnover, and talent acquisition.
