Marina Geymonat joined #Leonardo with the aim of leading the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, within the #LeonardoInnovationLabs, and was immediately fascinated by the complexity of the projects and the technological level of the company, “Here you can delve vertically into a topic, working closely with very experienced people, but also explore technology in general, finding connections between different fields.” Thinking back on the projects she followed in the last few months, as head of the AI Laboratory, three particularly inspired her. The integration of Large Language Models to business processes, aiming to facilitate them and improve their effectiveness. The application of the potential of #AI to satellites, with the aim of monitoring natural phenomena in real time and opening up new perspectives for emergency management. Arriva alla sua terza edizione STEM UP!, il programma di Leonardo per favorire l’inserimento e lo sviluppo di candidate #STEM in azienda. Attraverso questa iniziativa, il Gruppo ha già assunto, presso gli stabilimenti di Cascina Costa di Samarate (VA), Vergiate (VA) e Sesto Calende (VA), 60 professioniste altamente qualificate in ambito di Scienza, Tecnologia, Ingegneria e Matematica. Giovanna Damiano, responsabile del Continuous Improvement dell’area di business Elicotteri, ha spiegato l'importanza di valorizzare il talento femminile, osservando come il programma abbia portato professioniste con lauree in discipline tecnico-scientifiche a contribuire significativamente all'innovazione aziendale. Il contributo di queste donne si estende oltre il progetto STEM, arricchendo Leonardo Elicotteri con una nuova energia e creando un ambiente che promuove la collaborazione, la diversità e il miglioramento continuo. Erika Zocchi, Recruiting & Internal Mobility - Leonardo Elicotteri, ha sottolineato come il progetto STEMup, lanciato nel 2023, miri a diversificare i team con donne laureate in ingegneria biomedica, energetica, chimica, fisica e matematica. “La selezione di laureate in discipline STEM permette di rispondere alle sfide tecniche e gestionali della divisione, contribuendo allo sviluppo di soluzioni innovative e alla trasformazione del business stesso. On January 22, we had the pleasure of hosting in the #Leonardo Quantum Labs, in Rome, Prof. Tommaso Calarco who played a key role in building the European Quantum Flagship, and is now strongly active in the elaboration of the Italian Quantum Strategy. It was exciting for our #Quantum Labs researchers to present to the Professor their ongoing research activities, with working prototypes in the domains of Quantum Imaging, Quantum Sensing for Navigation and Quantum Communications; and to discuss with him the motivations and field applications of the solutions developed. The Leonardo Innovation Labs are the driving force behind the Group's technological innovation. And as such, this was a significant occasion to underscore Leonardo's commitment to supporting and contributing to the Italian and European strategy on Quantum Technologies. In the framework of bilateral meetings between Italy and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Investment (#MISA) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) (#GAMI) of the Kingdom and #Leonardo announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (#MoU) to discuss, develop and evaluate a range of investment and collaboration opportunities further expanding the collaboration in the #aerospace and #defence sector. This latest agreement leverages the MoU signed and announced in early 2024 which considered and explored multiple areas of collaboration to include #Space industry, airframe #MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul), localisation of electronic warfare systems and radars and assembly of helicopters, a focus on Combat Air and Cross-Domain Integration fields, industrialisation processes and human capital development, national supply chain in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the country’s role for Leonardo in the region as well as the global value chain.
