With over 🎯 100 sign-ups on our carpooling app across the event, its been exciting to see the engagement and conversation around sustainability and mobility at Griffith University this week. We loved meeting everyone and look forward to welcome all our new carpoolers! 🧡

How Can We Make Shared Transport the First Choice? 🚌🌱 The biggest challenge to getting people to embrace shared transport is simple: comfort and convenience. When the private car feels more flexible and accessible, why would someone choose anything else? This is where modal shift comes in — the crucial transition from private vehicle use to more sustainable, shared, and public transport options. But how do we drive this shift at scale? If you’re a corporate or public sector leader aiming to reduce car dependency and encourage shared mobility, the key lies in changing the perception of convenience. Here’s how: 🔑 Enhance Flexibility: Shared transport must compete with the flexibility of personal cars. Flexible schedules, on-demand services, and better last-mile solutions can help bridge the gap. 🔑 Improve Accessibility: Make shared transport easier to use and more widely available. Using digital twin inspired simulations to enhance on-demand transit services and increase bookings 📈 We're excited to share the new co-authored research paper exploring the use of digital twin (DT) inspired simulations to optimize on-demand transit (ODT) / DRT services from our very own Dr. Ben Kaufman and James Willcox, in collaboration with Griffith University and Abraham Leung. The study focused on two of our clients, AT Local in Auckland, New Zealand, and TeuBus in Porto Alegre, Brazil, demonstrating how DT simulations can lead to significant improvements in service efficiency and ridership. ✨Key findings from the research include: ✨ 🚀 Increased booking success rates: AT Local saw an average increase of 30 bookings per day, while TeuBus experienced a remarkable increase of 172 bookings per day. 🎯 Improved operational efficiency: Both networks saw improvements in maximum daily ridership, shared trip rate, and passengers per vehicle hour.
