We keep Britain's light aircraft flying.

About us

For more than 75 years, we've been working with our members to keep their aeroplanes flying. We provide airworthiness oversight on behalf of the Civil Aviation Authority for 2,700 light aircraft across the UK, including vintage, home-built and complex aeroplanes. Together with our members, we're also helping to secure the future of Britain's general aviation community, through educational outreach, training bursaries, mentoring programmes and public policy advocacy.

The Civil Aviation Authority wants to hear from you, before 22 May 2024. 👇 🗣 Simon Tilling, CEO at Light Aircraft Association, says: "The LAA believes that it's vital for the future of general aviation across the UK that it become more accessible to more people. The current pilot licensing structure and requirements can be challenging and difficult to understand. We encourage our members to share their views as part of this important consultation."
