For #NationalStressAwarenessDay we want to bring attention to the benefits of plants in the workplace – and as horticultural experts, we know a thing or two about plants. Did you know that workplace plants can reduce stress by up to 50%? By putting plants in your workspace, research has found significant improvements in mood, sleep and – most importantly – a reduction in stress. So, in light of National Stress Awareness Day, we’ve put together five benefits of having plants in your workplace. Swipe to learn more 👉

Crop harvests this year were the second worst on record in England due to heavy rains. Climate change has been blamed for these unpredictable weather conditions, with farmers saying planting in autumn and spring is becoming impossible due to flooding and drought issues. Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) offers a solution to these challenges. With indoor farming, crops can thrive regardless of weather conditions. By using LED lights and sensor technology, growers can maintain the right growing conditions all year round, ensuring food security in the face of climate uncertainty. Farming is becoming more advanced, with recent innovations making indoor farming a popular method to grow bigger, better and faster crops. You might have heard the terms ‘hydroponic’ and ‘aeroponic’ when talking about indoor farming techniques. But what do they mean? Hydroponics is a method of growing crops with the roots in water instead of soil. Growers then add nutrient solution to the water and directly into the roots. Aeroponics is a subset of hydroponics, where plants are grown with their roots dangling in the air. Below them are small misters that mist the root regularly with water and nutrients. Indoor farming is more efficient than ever – and with the help of advanced LED lighting and sensor technology – we can grow healthy crops all year round. #SmartFarming #Hydroponic #Aeroponic

Plans to make farming ‘net zero’ by 2040 may not be achieved, according to the National Farmers’ Union (NFU), and it’s warned that UK agriculture would not be able to reach this goal “without radical changes”. Here at Light Science Technologies, we’re here to help growers rethink traditional farming methods. Our nurturGROW lighting and sensorGROW technology optimises light and environmental conditions – empowering growers to use resources more efficiently, reduce energy consumption and cut down on emissions. Precision control means better crop yields with less waste – leading the way to more sustainable farming practices. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eeHcUgjE

#WorldMentalHealthDay serves as an important reminder that mental health matters just as much as physical health. Organised by the WFMH World Federation for Mental Health this year’s theme focuses on poor mental health and burnout in the workplace. Burnout is one of the most pressing issues facing the modern workplace – recognised as a state of exhaustion caused by long-term stress. People experiencing burnout can feel detached and demotivated, and often feel hopeless that their situation will ever change. Here at Light Science Technologies Holdings, we understand how challenging it can be to ask for help – but no one should feel like they have to face it alone. If you or someone you know may be struggling, please see these useful resources: https://lnkd.in/ePNQhNKT https://lnkd.in/g9UpTD6
