Midwives matter... everywhere! Midwives are key to transforming maternal healthcare, and we're thrilled to be working with Midwives' Associations from across Africa with our new Building Resilience in Digital Growth and Engagement (BRIDGE) cohort, in partnership with International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In this ever-changing digital landscape, it’s essential to equip midwives with the skills and tools they need to tell their stories and engage in crucial conversations online — skills that are vital for advocacy and community impact. Lightful’s Head of Programmes Róisín McGovern, and Digital Training Lead Jasmine Warren, had the opportunity to meet lots of the new participants when they hosted a full-day workshop at the ICM Regional Conference last month in Kigali, Rwanda. The workshop included content on the importance of digital resilience, how to use storytelling as a powerful tool for advocacy, and how to leverage digital platforms to amplify midwives' voices in maternal healthcare. Our brilliant participants already have some really exciting ideas, and we can't wait to see their content and campaigns come to life! Check out the video below to see how they're already putting their new skills into action! #MaternalHealth #MidwivesMatter #Midwives360 #DigitalSkills #DigitalTraining

On International Day of the Girl Child, we're celebrating the power of girls and women who are making a difference across the globe. This year's theme is all about amplifying girls' vision and voices for the future, and we're privileged to work with nonprofit organisations around the world who are dedicated driving change and building towards a better, more equitable future. Today we'd like to shine a spotlight on Young Achievement Sport for Development; a participant of our #LightfulBRIDGE digital skills programme made possible by Women Win. YASD are working in Zimbabwe to challenge societal norm, break down barriers and empowering girls by providing sport and educational programmes to marginalised communities. So far, they've provided sports training and mentorship to over 1,000 girls! Check out their page to see more of the brilliant work they do 🙌 #InternationalDayOfTheGirlChild #GenderEquity #GirlsInSport

As CEO of Lightful, it is my great honour to oversee our work in supporting civil society in #Ukraine during these incredibly challenging times. I’m fortunate to work with Svitlana Bakhshaliieva, our brilliant Ukrainian Digital Coach, whose expertise ensures we stay closely connected to the needs of Ukrainian #NGOs on the ground. Since 2022, Lightful has proudly trained over 300 Ukrainian NGOs, fully translating our digital and AI tools into Ukrainian to support their vital work. With the war in its third year, the amazing team at Philanthropy in Ukraine have published insightful research that #digitalskills are a key priority for small NGOs, particularly for attracting essential funding and rebuilding efforts. That’s why I’m thrilled to announce our upcoming webinar, Strengthening Ukrainian NGOs: The Power of Philanthropy in Building Digital Resilience. It is on on Thursday, 10th October at 10am ET / 3pm BST / 5pm CEEST. We’re bringing together a fantastic lineup of experts, including Cédrine Gisin (UBS Optimus Foundation), Victoria Vrana (GlobalGiving), along with several other wonderful speakers and organisations. Svitlana will be moderating the session, where we’ll explore how philanthropy can best support the organisational capacity of Ukrainian NGOs. We’re also offering a fully funded (= free!) two-week digital skills Accelerator for all interested small Ukrainian NGOs, conducted entirely in Ukrainian and aimed at building long-term resilience. Full details will be shared during the webinar, so that's another reason to join us! Please could I ask you to tag or share this with any foundations or philanthropists currently (or previously!) funding in this area, and any Ukrainian NGOs that could benefit from this support. Together, let’s continue empowering Ukraine’s civil society. Register here: https://lnkd.in/eXtBSFJw #SupportUkraine #Philanthropy #BuildingResilience
