Meet the speakers for our upcoming Founders' Fright Night: Tales from the Start-Up Trenches. 🎃 First up is Roger Gregg, Founder of Lightyear and Director at House Made Hospitality. Lightyear is a multi-award-winning global fintech company set up by two entrepreneurial Irish brothers, Chris & Roger Gregg (Pictured), in 2017. The idea for Lightyear came in 2011 when the brothers were working for a large hospitality group in Sydney. They had ten venues, processing 34,000 bills a year. "We quickly realised that the cost of processing paper bills is huge, but you won’t see the cost to process paper bills as a line item on your P&L, but the cost is there, in wages and salaries, office space, storage space, unidentified supplier overcharging etc. The list goes on". Lightyear is the world’s fastest Accounts Payable software. It offers: - Real-time line-by-line data extraction, so no more data-entry - Automatic price-checking, so no more overcharging - within a customisable approvals workflow, so no more paper shuffling or lost bills 2024 has been a massive year for the group, being shortlisted for Xero's UK Small Business App of the Year Award, while in May, they announced that software giant The Access Group, has agreed to acquire Lightyear to fuel global ERP growth.
