As part of its participation in New York Climate Week (NYCW) Liverpool FC hosted a panel discussion on Thursday on the role of sports driving change through sustainability. Alongside US sports organisations, including representatives from the National Hockey League (NHL), National Football League (NFL) and The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), the event took place in the heart of Manhattan and was supported by the club’s official digital transformation partner, Orion Innovation. Watch the new LFC Retail advert that sets out to inspire Reds fans across the globe. Shot on location at Anfield, the campaign video is a love letter to the home of Liverpool FC, told through song lyrics written by local band and lifelong supporters The Cheap Thrills. Their new track Home ‘I Want You Forever’ is the soundtrack to the video. With the band performing the track live at Anfield, under the darkness of night, the video is shot using a dynamic canvas of light and features Reds legends Natasha Dowie and John Barnes alongside passionate fans from all walks of life who each call this special stadium home. The inaugural ‘Run to Anfield’ event has so far raised more than £73,000 for LFC Foundation, with funds going towards its health and wellbeing programmes. More than 1,200 people took part in what was a special morning at Anfield for the 5k fun run, which club legend John Barnes got under way in Paisley Square, before runners were then able to head in to the stadium after completing the run to get their photographs with their medals in front of the iconic Kop. Watch as Curtis Jones surprises lifelong Liverpool supporter Harry Whitehurst in the latest 'Dear Liverpool', presented by NIVEA MEN. A proud Kopite who has been attending games at Anfield since the age of six, Harry was born with Williams syndrome, a rare genetic condition. In the video, Harry’s mum Claire explains how he does not let that stop him from supporting the Reds in person as his fellow Scouser Jones takes him on a special tour of Anfield. The surprises did not end there, either, as Harry met three more of his heroes and, thanks to NIVEA MEN, got the chance to achieve one of his dreams. Watch the full video below.
