🇯🇲 Trader Story - D’Moodz Caribbean Cuisine 📈 Tavon Joseph set up D’Moodz in Lock29 in 2022 after working in a Caribbean restaurant in Oxford. 🍽️ After not knowing about Lock29 when he first came to Banbury, Tavon was captivated by the space and array of food offerings so enquired about renting a unit. 🏡 Two years later, Tavon says that Lock29 “has become [his] home” and continues to serve the community of Banbury with delicious Caribbean food. #Lock29 #Banbury #IndependentBusiness

⚓️ We are situated on the lock-side of the Oxford canal; on the Lock numbered 29. 🔗 Lock29 is a historical part of the canal linking Bedworth, Banbury and Rugby. 🩵 Completed in 1790, and further connecting to the River Thames and the Grand Union Canal — it became a main artery of trade between the Midlands and London for over 15 years and enhanced local county economies through strength of connectivity and shipping products of local industry. 🙌 3 centuries later the Lock29 destination that we proudly offer pays homage to it’s heritage - connectivity, industrial roots and community benefits are our ethos. #Lock29 #Banbury #Heritage

🙌 Trader Story - World of Fudge & Sweets 🍬 Peter Barlow set up his confectionary and fudge business in 2019 after retiring from running his electrician business. 🛍️ He started by running a pop-up stall outside of WH Smith in Castle Quay and was invited to become part of Lock29 upon its’ opening in 2020. 🌟 Peter initially took on a six-month lease to see how it would go, he’s now been part of Lock29 for 4 years. 🍭 Peter quotes “I love it here, and I get along well with everyone here; we are like a big family. ☀️ Over the summer we elevated our outdoor space to ensure that there was opportunity for our community to enjoy the canal side. 🌱 We enhanced our outdoor seating with artificial grass and benches alongside new planters which have added a vibrancy to the space. 🎠 The addition of AJ’s Grub Hub, Tap Social’s outdoor bar and the carousel operated by Rose’s of Bloxham meant that our outdoor space was one for all ages to enjoy. 🛍️ This also gave our existing traders the chance to expand their offerings as well. #Lock29 #Banbury #IndependentBusiness
