We are excited to have officially received the keys to our new office in Birmingham, 1 Newhall Street. Rhino Interiors Group have done a fabulous job and worked hard to make this space perfect for us, we look forward to welcoming our clients and contacts in for meetings very soon. Now the countdown to the office move can begin!

Last week, we welcomed three new trainees to the firm. Megan Murray-Carter, Kate McCann and Tracey Obiakor will spend the next two years in different teams around the firm to complete their training and qualify as solicitors. Welcome to Lodders!

Labour's Renters Rights Bill will be introduced in Parliament today. A revision of the Conservative's Renters Reform Bill, but retaining most of the key changes, the new bill is expected to become law by mid-2025 according to the Housing Minister, Matthew Pennycock, speaking this morning. When it becomes law, the bill will remove 'no fault' evictions and is intended to provide more security of tenure for the increasing number of people who are renting rather than buying their homes. However, new grounds for possession mean that landlords will be able to recover possession if they want to sell their property, or if they or a member of their family is going to move in. As ever, we wait to see how quickly this will progress and, once it becomes law, how effective some of the proposals actually are in practice but, broadly speaking, the reforms should be good news for the rental sector.
