London Festival of Architecture
Architecture and Planning
The world's largest annual architecture festival. 1-30 June 2025 | #LFA2025
About us
The London Festival of Architecture celebrates London as the unrivalled global city for architecture. The London Festival of Architecture began in 2004, and has since grown to become Europe's biggest annual architecture festival. The festival attracts a vast public audience – well over 600,000 people in 2018 – and a global media audience of millions. The vast majority of events are free, and are staged by a core festival programming team working alongside architecture and design practices and practitioners, leading cultural and academic institutions, artists and many others. In 2017 the London Festival of Architecture was named by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan as one of his design advocate organisations, and is working alongside the Mayor's team to champion architecture, provide expertise and guidance, and help to make London a better city.

#StreetAssemblies by Urban Radicals reimagined the #SquareMile through four distinct architecture interventions during #LFA2024! Located across the City of London, the Street Assembly platforms – Roundtable, Speakers’ Plinths, Voicing Pod and Public Assembly – reimagined parliamentary forms and prompted Londoners to actively engage in shaping the city’s discourse , making the idea of civic assembly accessible to a diverse audience. Designed by Urban Radicals with support from millimetre and AKT II, the platforms were created in partnership with Fleet Street Quarter, Culture Mile BID, Migration Museum, Aldgate Connect BID and EC BID. We’re thrilled to announce the shortlist for ‘Transforming Falcon Road Bridge’ with Wandsworth Borough Council! 📣 Launched earlier this year, this innovative competition invited architects, designers, and artists to reimagine the tunnel beneath Falcon Road Bridge, transforming this critical passageway near Clapham Junction into a vibrant, welcoming space. The challenge was to enhance this heavily-used route, connecting Battersea to neighbouring town centres, while celebrating the area’s unique character and addressing the needs of the local community. The seven shortlisted teams will now progress to develop their ideas, working closely with #WandsworthCouncil to engage local communities through a public exhibition, ensuring that the final design resonates with the needs and character of the area. Throwing it back to the #PerformingGardens on #PhoenixRoad from #LFA2022! ✨ Three timber pavilions functioned as podiums for talks, performance and storytelling, inviting residents and passers-by to take to the stage or observe an act. The project acted as a testbed for transforming the area into a greener and healthier place, encouraging residents to embrace their role as active citizens. This project features in NLA's publication ‘Public London: Activating the City’, looking back at some of the momentous projects that have shaped London’s public realm over the last two decades.
