Brilliant to hear more about the ECB's plans to make cricket the nation's most inclusive team sport at the launch of their Inspiring Generations strategy for the next 4 years yesterday.   We look forward to continuing playing our part in making this happen through our impactful and inclusive cricket programmes being delivered across the UK.   The progress being made was highlighted by seeing one of our Wicketz participants Sara speak so eloquently about the impact being involved in cricket has had on her and her family at the event yesterday, and by the fact that following our first year of cricket delivery in SEND schools, teachers reported that 1 in 4 participants had an improved classroom focus after engaging in cricket.   We've made great progress so far but there is still so much more we can do together.

We have today announced our updated Inspiring Generations strategy for the next four years. The strategy details cricket’s vision to become the most inclusive team sport in England and Wales, while at the same time growing and uniting the game and leading it through global transformation. Everyone within the game - including the county network and our partners - will be focused on delivering action plans that underpin the updated Inspiring Generations strategy. The publication of several of these action plans was recommended by the Independent Commission for Equity in Cricket, and they set out in more detail how we will address issues identified by the ICEC Report. Key actions include: • Boosting cricket in state secondary schools by training hundreds of secondary school teachers. • Investing £3.5m into the most ethnically diverse areas of England and Wales by 2027 • Increasing the number of young volunteers by 50%, adding 3,500 young people by 2028 • Training thousands of staff and volunteers in anti-discrimination and inclusion https://lnkd.in/eWjQGpUb
