[M]enable - The Badge of Honour for positive Mental Wealth in The Auto Industry [M]otor Trade - [M]ental Wealth
About us
[M]enable is a global movement across the Automotive Industry that is bringing together like minded people in the support of growing Mental wealth and so reducing mental health issues. We aim to approach this area proactively, by creating a culture in the sector that encourages psychological safety, removes stigmas and breaks the silence - especially in the male dominated world of the motor industry. We believe that treating the symptoms of a lack of mental wealth is too late and so for businesses to sustain growth, improve performance and engage their teams, the issues and stresses, should be discussed sooner. Make it OK for people to bring the best versions of themselves to work. Through our growing, global network of Ambassadors, support is never far away. Through our founder @stephenjwhitton and a trusted group of specialists, we can provide workshops, keynote talks and coaching to all businesses and individuals within the industry.

We’re extremely proud that our founder Stephen J. Whitton. Event Host, Speaker, Founder of [M]enable will be guest speaker at Milton Keynes Pride Festival on September 14th. Everyone should be talking about Mental Wealth and Stephen role models this perfectly.
• Community Stage • Stephen J. Whitton. Event Host, Speaker, Founder of [M]enable for mental wealth awareness and education across ‘masculine’ (often male dominated) industries. As a speaker/ event host he is on a mission to “help people have happy” lives again and wants to share his simple formula for how he delivers that. With an extensive background in the automotive sector, in numerous roles, Stephen has lived experience of the cost of not investing in your mental wealth - and in 2020, the life he’d built collapsed, when the pressure got too much. Stepping back from the brink though, Stephen’s optimism and energy enabled him to chose the path of hope, rather than despair! Stephen is also 2024 London Region President for the Professional Speaking Association and is a PROUD Member of the LGBTQIA+ community and so, is keen to share his learning in the service of help people to live the lives they want! #MkPride #MiltonKeynes #Pride2024 #EqualityForAll #LGBTQ #DiversityMatters #PartyWithPurpose #Lesbian #Gay #Bisexual #Transgender #CommunityStage

Day three of World Wellbeing Week - here's a little insight from Stephen J. Whitton. Business Speaker, Event Host, Founder
Leading the global movement bringing Mental Wealth to masculine environments. International Keynote Speaker, inspiring courage in leaders to navigate change through focusing on wellbeing. "Psst - I love being an MC too!"
‘How flexible are you?’ This is what I was asked when I rang up about Yoga sessions! My answer? ‘I can’t do Wednesdays!’ (😂🤪🤦♂️) Physical movement was actually what they were referring to! 🙄 It’s World Well-being Week and one of the things we can do is good physical movement. Yoga is not for me! Neither do I run, swim or play tennis, but a good long walk (especially around a city) most definitely is my thing! I feel the benefit in my sleep, my digestion and my overall mental state! What’s your preferred ‘movement’ for your mental wealth (keep it clean🤪😂🤦♂️)

We love a bit of journalling!
Leading the global movement bringing Mental Wealth to masculine environments. International Keynote Speaker, inspiring courage in leaders to navigate change through focusing on wellbeing. "Psst - I love being an MC too!"
Journalling! One of the great activities we suggest as part of improving your Mental Wealth and wellbeing. It's World Wellbeing Week and it's time for each of us to prioritise our own wellbeing and for progressive leaders and employers to support that. I use/d Journalling to help me make sense of the 'overwhelm' I was feeling as my world collapsed. It didn't cure anything, but did allow me to recognise patterns, thoughts and challenges that kept showing up - to then eliminate unnecessary, unhelpful and even destructive thoughts. Just a few minutes a day to jot down thoughts and reflections on the day - what you're reflecting on and what you're grateful for (because it's easy to lose sight of that when times are tough). As an example, I realised how many times I was triggered by people around me preceding everything they said with the words 'yes, but'! It was my hope and optimism that was triggered, because I knew it was the following statement (or excuse) that was going to be the barrier! So, in journalling I logged how often that happened and learned how to not be triggered by it. Anyone who works with us gets one of these [M]enable Journals (and I love it when I return to a business and get asked for more!) So, if you'd like to grab one of these, give me a shout - book a chat with me (link below). Enjoy the nice weather in the UK today too.

Go on - do it! Be a mate!
Leading the global movement bringing Mental Wealth to masculine environments. International Keynote Speaker, inspiring courage in leaders to navigate change through focusing on wellbeing. "Psst - I love being an MC too!"
Be a mate, check in on the blokes / guys / chaps / geezers / lads / men around you. It's Men's Health Week (MHW) and it's all about ensuring us men have access to the resources and information we need. Last year the theme was 'give yourself an MOT' - how fitting for the Automotive industry. Why not do that again this year? Check in on each other, while you're at it. Just this morning, I've had newsletters from Ben Automotive Industry Charity and (in the link below) the NHS, so there's loads of info out there. But all of us saying stuff isn't enough - and employers, you have a role in this too! Does your culture encourage open conversations? This looks like a great week to normalise those conversations around physical health being as important as mental health. Go on - stand shoulder to shoulder with your mates, check in on them - let them check in on you - you may just be glad you / they did! MOTORS [M]enable
