From first being involved in the community brief for the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) back in 2012 to regenerate the Olympic site in Stratford, to being the last ever LLDC planning approval awarded last night with Bow Goods Yard for Network Rail. Congratulations to the team EAST Architecture Studio, WSP, make:good Useful Projects ARCHITECTURE 00 UMC Architects The final piece of the Olympic Park jigsaw is an industrial-led masterplan with up to 3 million sq ft of floorspace being created, including heavy and light industrial space. Bow Goods Yard has the potential to deliver a new centralised hub for Network Rail, accelerating London’s transition to green freight future. Taking up to 90,000 HGV movements a year away from the national road network, the masterplan will cut congestion and emissions. About us
Maccreanor Lavington is an award-winning architectural practice established in the early nineties by Gerard Maccreanor and Richard Lavington. Working from offices in London and Rotterdam, Maccreanor Lavington has built up a diverse portfolio of both individual buildings and large-scale urban design projects and has a particular expertise in housing, public buildings and regeneration. Our architecture is calm but uplifting, contemporary yet timeless. Rather than shout for attention, out work is deliberately background in character, seeking to create ‘ordinary’ places for living and working. Our philosophy is fabric-first design and we build robust, well-made buildings that will last. Our work has been recognised by numerous prestigious awards and has been cited as a case study in various publications on housing, schools and urban design.

Nourishing communities: Food at London’s core is happening next week NLA. Catch ML Associate, Irene Frassoldati speaking about M-NEX - a study to discover how spatial interventions in our neighbourhoods can maximise the productive capacity for food growing and energy production in an urban context. https://lnkd.in/ebFXXdxJ #urbanists #architects

We had a fantastic session at the NLA yesterday discussing the potential and challenges of integrating micro data centres into communities, and how to equitably share the benefits of co-location. Associate Director Tiago Costa Jorge has led one of the NLA Expert Panel workgroup over the past year. His team has brought together a great group of experts for an open and informed discussion around alternative models for delivering digital infrastructure. Celebrating a significant milestone in their professional journeys. Congratulations to Beth Mogey and Millie Evans who have successfully passed their RIBA Part III exams. As they transition into their new roles as architects within the practice, we are excited to continue guiding them through the next stages of their careers. Well done both 🙌 🙌 https://lnkd.in/ep8sYzfF #anglodutch #architects #urbanists

Thanks Ed Major, a wonderful milestone. Two of our tenure blind elegant buildings recently completed in London's new White City neighbourhood, and part of the larger development and existing community surrounding Television Centre. We can't wait to show more. Prisca Thielmann Steve Perkins Owen Jowett #architects #anglodutch
It was a great pleasure to take handover of 142 new homes at MacFarlane Place on Tuesday, part of the excellent Television Centre regeneration in White City. The completion of this development marks the culmination of many years of hard work and sets a high bar for quality, low-carbon performance and beauty. Heat and hot water will be delivered through a 100% electric, Air Source Heat Pump based system, which will generate approximately 1/6 of the carbon of an equivalent gas-based system. A passive approach to thermal comfort management through the use of roller shutters marks an innovative approach (for the UK) and avoids the need for carbon-intensive air-conditioning. I am also pleased to share that 34 homes have been made available to key workers. The standards achieved reflect the culture of collaboration on the development and it has been a pleasure working alongside teams at Stanhope, Mitsui and Kier to deliver these homes. A big thank you to Gareth Healy ChPP MAPM, Jonathan Trout, Robert Kemlo, Richard Fisher and the teams at Hammersmith & Fulham Council Kier Group, Maccreanor Lavington, Arup, Max Fordham LLP, Avison Young │ UK, Potter Raper and all those involved in delivering these new homes. https://lnkd.in/eQwjrCsS

Honoured to have played a part in the the RIBA Stirling Prize shortlisted Kings Cross Masterplan by Allies and Morrison & Porphyrios Associates from developer Related Argent. Kings Cross R5 plot is made up of Saxon Court, Roseberry Mansion and Fenman House and was one of the first residential buildings delivered within the masterplan. When we designed the building back in 2008, the context had been stripped bare ready for development and there was little development to relate to, particularly at the intended scale, other than an abstract masterplan. 'There isn't a universal grid, it's much more incidental and grows out of the complex shapes and patterns that we inherited - you get a big variety of types of place and space.' Bob Allies of Allies and Morrison Just look how far it has come: https://lnkd.in/eWtRATyq Good luck to everyone involved in this superb piece of city making. #architects #urbanists

A 'Back to School' project from yesteryear before a new term begins. Here's Ibstock School Refectory, a former National RIBA Winner. It was a competition win where the design was founded on a fastidious attention to the interior spaces. We recognised the importance of lunchtimes in supporting the emotional and social development of pupils and wanted to create a building that was uplifting and celebratory. We were committed to creating a calm, quiet and - critically - enjoyable space; allowing hundreds of pupils to dine simultaneously whilst being able to have a conversation with those immediately next to them. The Brentford masterplan reinstates lost connections from the High Street to the River Brent, Grand Union Canal and inland waterways to the south, helping re-establish new characterful street patterns that echo historic working yards. Wonderful to see it getting this recognition. We worked on part of the project with Howells Allford Hall Monaghan Morris #architects #urbanists
We're proud to announce that The Brentford Project has been named Regeneration Scheme of the Year at the British Homes Awards! This award is a testament to the vision and dedication that has gone into transforming Brentford's riverside into a vibrant new quarter. The Brentford Project represents a new way of living in West London, from reconnecting the High Street to the waterfront to creating a community where well-being, creativity, and local culture thrive. A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing this vision to life. To our incredible teams, partners, and collaborators—this achievement wouldn't be possible without your hard work and passion. Here's to the incredible community taking shape! More on The Brentford Project: https://lnkd.in/gg2buYK *** Photography by Hufton + Crow [Nick Hufton ] #BritishHomesAwards #Regeneration #PlaceMaking

Completed 13 years ago and Kraaiennest Metro Station in Amsterdam is still looking and performing as it did back then. Shortlisted for the Architecture Today Awards 2024 for Infrastructure and Public Realm. Joost Kok 'The metro building’s greatest value over time is its exceptional robustness and its architectural timelessness. The station, with its glowing, jewel-like presence, has proven to be highly durable. The materials and detailing have hardly aged, and the simple layout has anchored the structure and its use, making it feel as though it has never been any different.' https://lnkd.in/e7-z99nw #anglodutch #architects #urbansists
