L'Oréal opens new Australian distribution centre 👏 The global cosmetics brand has opened a brand new $40m facility in Queensland, Australia. Serving customers across key states including New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory, the site has a capacity of 14,500 sqm and is ideally located to take advantage of booming population growth and infrastructure developments taking place across the state. Majestic Wine's reports almost double sales growth 👏 The British specialist wine retailer has experienced an almost double yearly sales growth in its organic wine category. With availability and demand exceeding expectations, sales of products across retail and on-trade surged by 94% in the year to July 2024, with the retailer offering a total of 169 organic wines to its customers. According to the company, an increasing number of wine producers have made the switch to organic, which has improved the quality, variety and prominence of its organic range. Urban Outfitters reports Q2 revenue increase 👏 The global fast-fashion company has revealed a 6.3% increase in net sales for the second quarter of 2024, taking total sales value to $1.35bn. In terms of first-half performance, net sales increased by 7% totalling $2.55bn. The group, which owns brands Free People and Anthropologie, reported comparable retail segment sales growth of 7.1% and 6.7% for both brands respectively. Nestlé appoints new CEO 👏 The Swiss confectionery giant has revealed the appointment of Laurent Freixe as its new Chief Executive Officer. Freixe joined Nestlé back in 1986 and has served in various roles during his nearly four-decade-long career, including Head of Nutrition, Marketing Director, CEO of Iberia, and most recently as EVP and CEO of Latin America. He takes over from Mark Schneider, who has been in the CEO position since 2017.
