World Water Day 2025: When Hope Flows Through Partnerships https://lnkd.in/eD9qXYph March 22nd is World Water Day, a moment to reflect on the critical role water plays in our lives and to celebrate the partnerships working to protect this essential resource. This year, we highlight a collaboration that perfectly captures the theme "Hope Flows." Formidable Joy, an organization devoted to uplifting communities, has partnered with Machmade, a trusted name in plumbing and water solutions and operators of the Dyno-Rod franchise in the Liverpool City Region. Machmade's commitment extends far beyond their own community; they also deeply understand and support the plight of people who are even less fortunate than those in the UK. This shared compassion has brought both organizations together to tackle water-related challenges in meaningful and innovative ways. Cindee, who leads Formidable Joy, shared a sobering perspective: "If anything, things are getting worse and worse—climate change is real, droughts, flooding, food insecurity, inflation at an all-time high, devaluation of the Kwacha, lack of fuel, lack of forex, lack of access to clean water, lack of proper health care...are you depressed yet? It's bad...and sad." Yet, despite these immense challenges, Formidable Joy and Machmade remain dedicated to sparking hope and making a tangible difference. While Cindee had hoped to share a newsletter for World Water Day, logistical challenges in pricing have led to a delay. The upcoming appeal will focus on food relief, emphasizing the effects of inflation—a bag of maize for a family of four that cost 35,000MK last year now costs 95,000MK. As both organizations hint at something extraordinary planned for 2026, their partnership offers a poignant reminder: hope flows brightest when driven by shared purpose and empathy. On this World Water Day, let us honor the connections water brings to our world and the collaborative efforts striving to protect it for future generations. Thanks to the unwavering dedication of Formidable Joy and Machmade, the future brims with hope—and it flows more strongly each day. But we’re not stopping there! This Friday, we’ll be back on the air with Roy Basnett and Liz Folan diving even deeper into the impact of this campaign, the strength of our community, and how you can get involved.
