A little spice makes everything nice! The guest bedroom of our Parkside Residence is saturated with spicy tones and textures from floor to ceiling. From grasscloth walls by Altfield London and soft sheers by Zimmer + Rohde, to linen bedding by Caravane and a velvet headboard in ‘teddy mohair’ by Pierre Frey, every surface of this cosy bedroom spans the spice rack, with tones of saffron to cinnamon. The room also features a vintage swivel armchair from Studio Kalina, alongside a sculptural ceramic pressed stool by Floris Wubben for SCP with a fire resin glaze. We paired a ‘Bond desk’ by Jonathan Adler with a vintage cowhide stool from ODE Interiors, and hung above the bed is a bubble wall sconce for bed-time reading. One of our favourite cushions by LRNCE and curtains in ‘alchemia’ by Élitis add playfulness. 📸 Ricardo Labougle #InteriorDesign #GuestBedroom #BedroomDesign #MadduxCreative #Spicy #KeepingItSpicy #WarmTones #Cinnamon #Saffron #LondonDesign

We designed everything down to the door handles for our Parkside Residence project! We worked closely with an artist who specialises in natural forms to create a small series of fungi inspired ironmongery and cabinet hardware, the first of which we prototyped here. These are cast in bronze, by our friends at G. W. Luntz in Birmingham, and inspired by the organic form of bracket fungi. We used this custom handle on a set of bespoke glazed doors, leading from the dark hallway into the bright, light-filled sitting room beyond. Hand painted on site in an array of golden hues by one of our trusted artisans, the tones create an enchanting glow as it filters through to the entrance hall from the apartment's expansive wraparound windows. We developed this originally for our WOW!House room in 2023 and liked it so much that we decided to turn it into a door pull. We are developing some other shapes and forms from these same prototypes. The handles are available to order from us, and the others are coming soon! Watch this space for upcoming pieces. The custom dressing room of our Kent Country House project is a sanctuary of tranquillity and elegance – a perfect retreat for those moments of getting ready. We installed a bespoke vintage haberdashery case from @dandabinder, and bespoke ottoman from Lorfords Contemporary, upholstered in ‘Benjelloun’ by Bennison Fabrics and piping from Samuel & Sons. A vintage standing mahogany Cheval mirror from Vinterior adds character, alongside a chandelier from 1stDibs, to which we added scalloped rattan shades from Matilda Goad. The solid oak joinery is complemented by light-toned grasscloth walls from Altfield London in ‘Sugar Cane’ and grasscloth panels on the oak-panelled doors, along with wall-to-wall sisal carpet, creating a haven of calm and serenity. Soft natural hues and textures make this space the ultimate escape—because no one needs stress when getting dressed! ‘Red has been used to show love and devotion on Valentine’s Day for generations’, and Valentine’s Day is a celebration every shade of love and devotion. ‘Earth Mover, Beating Heart’. Painted in 2004-5 in the Hamersley Range of north-western Australia, the image of a mine truck's engine symbolizes a love that is rooted in devotion – the kind that moves mountains. This artwork honours the profound, familial love that precedes romantic relationships: the unshakable bonds and deep connections that shape our lives. It speaks to the transformative power of love, the willingness to reshape everything for the ones we hold dear. This vivid and evocative piece by artist @_ladyshack_ anchors the large open plan hallway of our converted Granary project. An antique, oversized 70s ceramic German table lamp from our collection sits atop a teak bench from ODE Interiors. Alongside a standing floor lamp also from Ode Interiors and patterned rug by Le Nouvel Atlas, the pieces allow the artwork to take centre stage. Please contact us for enquiries about the artist's work. Maison Autrique, one of Victor Horta’s most significant projects and restorations, stands as a true milestone in Brussels' architectural history. Built in 1893, it marks a pivotal moment in Belgian architecture and represents the essence of the Art Nouveau movement. After undergoing a remarkable renovation, the house is now open to the public, offering a deeper appreciation of both the historical and aesthetic value of Brussels’s old houses and the pioneering spirit of Art Nouveau. Horta designed the house for his friend Eugene Autrique, an engineer at Solvay, who was also an important client. Autrique's demands were simple: “not a single luxury, not a single extravagance: an inhabitable basement-floor, a dignified vestibule and staircase hall, the living and dining room nicely connecting, a first floor with bath and toilet (which wasn't common in those days) and a second floor for children and servants.” (V. Horta, Memoirs, p. 31) The hallway’s stunning spiral mosaic floor can be considered an Art Nouveau masterpiece, embodying the birth of the movement in all its distinctive style. The stained glass windows—featuring motifs like a persimmon tree, irises, and a heron in flight—are symbolic of early Art Nouveau, with its signature references to the natural world. The glamorous bathroom extending from the bedroom was a particular favourite area of ours.
