Each Tuesday, I will share some messages and emails I have received that I would red flag. Knowing what to look for could stop you from being scammed or worse. Our businesses naturally evolve. However, the email here is based on out-of-date information (by three years!). In all fairness, they probably bought an old, outdated email list… I mean, that’s what they are selling to me!

How much time have you ever wasted with back-and-forth emails to book an appointment at the right time… It reminds me of corded phones and ‘you hang up’, ‘no you hang up’, ‘no you hang up’, ‘no you hang up’ I mean, yes, we were all guilty. The constant back and forth… I think those moments sometimes lasted longer than the actual call itself. Times have changed, and now, even after we hang up, you can shoot a quick emoji. We are more connected than ever before, streamlining the connection process! Dont save passwords I have seen so many people saving passwords… Your computer browser is the gateway to your personal life and business, its like leaving a window wide open when you lock your door and go out… saving passwords and having easy access to that isn’t just easy for you - its easy for everyone! But, there is a more serious side to this! You will not be able to access any of your programs because you do not know your password, and your browser deletes them! On the 24th / 25th of June, Google wiped 15 million people's passwords - and any new passwords that were saved in this duration were hidden. It sounds incredible, doesn't it? But what if you didn't know your password and needed to reset it and couldn’t? This caused headaches for so many people because they relied on software to remember their passwords. Take responsibility for your online security. Instead of relying on your browser, jot down your passwords on a piece of paper and store it in a safe place. The Registered mark will put off some scammers etc from copying your business name, having a registered trademark on file gives the business owner additional protections, including presumed ownership, and diminishes the burden of proof. You give your business everything when you get started, scammers and copycats do not care about who your are, they see something and tak it, unless you have insurance and strong legals behind you you could lose everything you have created. Oh, scammers have been targeting Facebook pages for years now, and they never give up. Some are mentions (your page was mentioned), some are tags (your page was tagged), and some are direct messages like this one. Most of these messages are fake. If you are ever unsure, look for a corresponding email or log into Business Manager / Suite and check your notification/message from Meta.
