A fun start to the day.
Work means everything to me. I structure my life around it - for better, for worse. I am an early bird and it was a joy to do a 530am run and then meet with my little sister Joy at 715 to have breakfast at the glorious Montparnasse Cafe in London’s Kensington. We talked, laughed and reminisced about Mum. We also drank coffee with the cafe’s owner Meriem - a vivacious person (if you are ever in Kensington, check out the cafe - it will not disappoint). A smile rarely leaves Joy’s face. Yes, she really does live up to her name. An uplifting morning. It blew gremlins away. It made me feel stronger about tackling work. It made my soul shine from within. After a week writing about the winter fuel payment controversially being withdrawn from many hard-pressed pensioners - and other taxation issues for Sunday’s paper, joy was much needed. Joy delivered it in buckets. Enjoy your weekend and make someone close to you smile from ear to ear. And if you are the recipient of love, embrace it and absorb it into your soul.
