Over the previous decade, Make UK has campaigned relentlessly for the introduction of a long-term industrial strategy, to all who would listen, and many who wouldn’t. Our campaign reached a significant milestone recently, with the Government’s publication of its “Invest 2035” industrial strategy green paper, which looks set to put manufacturing at the heart of its future industrial plans, while also placing them on a statutory footing, via the Industrial Strategy Advisory Council, helping protect against political chop and change. Actions that Make UK has repeatedly called for in the media; directly to decision-makers in Westminster; throughout our policy work; and on social media, on behalf of members and wider industry, as we’ve fought to help bring certainty to your investment decisions and growth to our sector. It is the combination of our hard work and your unwavering support that has led us to this point. And while we know there’s still a long road to go, with Government’s consultation on the plans underway and the final strategy set to be launched in the Spring, Make UK has taken this opportunity to take a look back through our campaigning efforts over the previous decade. 👇 #UKmfg #IndustrialStrategy Stephen Phipson CBE Ben Fletcher Verity Davidge Faye Skelton #IndustrialStrategy
