From selecting the finest cuts to mastering traditional techniques, our master butchers are at the heart of what we do. Let’s hear from some of the butchers on their career journey here at Booker: ⭐ Cheryl Buck – “In just 19 months, I’ve gone from never handling a boning knife to breaking down a whole lamb carcass. My apprenticeship has given me the foundation to keep growing.” ⭐ Shane Morley – “I have just completed my IoM accredited Master Butcher award within the company, and I am really proud of myself and grateful of Booker for giving me the option to do this.” 📢 Supporting the Future of Butchery: Over 800 colleagues have completed or are enrolled in our Butchery Development Programmes. 🌈 As LGBTQ+ History Month comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the incredible conversations and events that took place over the past few weeks. This month, we hosted a Virtual Panel and an in-person event in Eccles in collaboration with Dunnhumby, Switchboard, and George House Trust, exploring the history of HIV activism and how support for people living with HIV has evolved over the years, continuing these vital discussions and learning from those who have been at the forefront of change. But LGBTQ+ history isn’t just something to acknowledge for one month—it’s a story that continues every day. Being an ally is a year-round commitment.
