⭐ MPG IS HIRING: PPC/PAID MEDIA ACCOUNT MANAGER (B2B) ⭐ Good afternoon lovely network of mine... As you head into the weekend, please do what you can to help us find a great new team member for MPG, and at the same time help someone in your network find a great new role in a fantastic company by sharing this job spec: https://lnkd.in/eqfWG6UH 5 MUST HAVE's for this role: #1 Strong knowledge and experience in Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads. #2 B2B experience. #3 Someone who is super organised, highly collaborative, and is a strong communicator. #4 Has good commercial skills and/or potential, so they can make a significant contribution to MPG's client acquisition, retention and upselling/cross-selling. #5 This is a hybrid role - 2 days a week in our central London office (full time/5 days a week) Agency experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.

  • Why use Team MPG for your marketing training needs? #1 When you have your marketing inhouse - it needs to be strong, even when using external partners e.g. digital agencies, outsourced telesales, etc. In fact, strong in-house marketers are needed to ensure external partners deliver a good ROI. #2 Marketers often lack the knowledge, skills and confidence to make an impact. This leads to a negative spiral of underinvestment in marketing - negatively impacting longer business performance. MPG can teach marketers how to be more effective - get in touch to discuss how we can help. https://bit.ly/4dI6MmK

I am seeing a very worrying thing happening in marketing. Marketers are using generative AI in the wrong way. They're getting AI to write copy and content from scratch and create images for campaigns without good raw material. It's shocking to see how poor the outcome is in terms of relevance and quality of copy, design quality, and integration of comms across a multi-channel, extended campaign. They're also using AI to write marketing plans from scratch. These come out as superficial and lacking in the kind of 'on the money' ideas and flair that is needed for a campaign to stand out from the crowd. This is especially problematic for events. I suspect it's because marketers are trying to be efficient as they just have too much to do. They're probably being encouraged to use AI to 'work smarter'. Is anyone else worried about what this means for event marketing, and therefore the future of events? Events are even more important in an AI-driven world where deep, trusted relationships are needed for businesses to flourish. But there is a risk that AI will kill events, because AI is killing marketing. Marketing needs thought, investment, and care. It needs PEOPLE to do work only PEOPLE can do. Yes - please use AI to do some of the work for you. It is a marvellous tool for proofing, summarising, editing, sourcing useful content as raw material and helping us become more efficient and effective in all sorts of ways. But please put PEOPLE first. We need the smart marketers to drive the AI and do the things AI can't do. If you don’t have smart, thoughtful marketers in your team because you've removed them in a 'restructure’, assuming AI can do more of their work, you're already sliding down a slippery slope - fast. When you hit the bottom, you'll only have yourself to blame if you're forsaken people for robots.
