At our quarterly Global Digital Trends 2024 Breakfast at Searcys at The Gherkin, London, Richard Abbott from Meltwater updated us on the major Q4 social trends listed in their 500-page report including: - TikTok use averages 49 hours and 29 minutes per month (over 30 hours more than the next channel YouTube at 19 hours and 10 minutes) - TikTok ranks number 1 for consumer spend - YoY digital ad spend has increased by $3.6 billion in the UK - YoY influencer ad spend in the UK has increased by $140m We also heard from Rotem Hinkis from APCO about being able to find your authentic audience, the dead internet theory (which supposedly happened in 2016), "AI slop" and how to implement true reach measures.
