Playing with form and type in this one! New SEED: Type Ribbon Write a word or message and play with the formulas to change the shape. There’s settings to adjust the speed and colours. Click and drag, and track in and out to move around. How cool would this be as a 3d holographic? Watch this space... #seed #type #ribbon #creativeprogramming #webapp #webgl #newfuture #matatools

MATA Inspiration: SCHLIEREN PHOTOGRAPHY A visualisation technique that captures variations in air density allowing us to observe the flow of air and other transparent fluids. These stunning visualisations make it a popular technique for demonstrating complex physical principles in an engaging and accessible way. It's a peek into the hidden world of invisible forces. Oooh! would 💜 to create a TOOL that visualises live data in VR. This is a great application for the Vision Pro which really adds to the viewers experience of the sport. One of the most interesting things from our perspective is it uses the Z-space, people can look around and inspect in 3 dimensions, they can get close or take a bigger picture view. This opens up the doors to a new way of thinking how we visualise ideas and information design in VR, something that we're exploring more and more at MATA. A few new features added to our Chladni SEED. Play with the number of particles in each row and column. Change the colours and size to make it your own. Track: Facelift by Jan Jelinek #seed #chladni #visualprogramming #audioreactive #particles #webgl #newfuture #matatools

Coming from a live visual background, we've been developing ways to use audio to drive various elements within our visual programming. Starting with the seed of an idea to use engine sounds to influence a letterform, we aptly used this concept to drive the campaign messaging for TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team Oy. Here, we utilised the sounds of their #Toyota engines to shape the typography for their WRC return. The last prototype visualises the sound of a jet engine, capturing its sheer power and resonance. MATA Inspiration: SKETCHPAD, 1963, Ivan Sutherland A groundbreaking computer program created by Ivan Sutherland in the early 1960s. Sketchpad is considered one of the earliest examples of graphical user interfaces and interactive computer graphics. Developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1963, Sketchpad allowed users to create and manipulate geometric shapes on a computer screen using a light pen. Users could draw lines and shapes, constrain them with mathematical rules, and interact with the drawings in real-time. It introduced the concept of object-oriented programming and laid the foundation for computer-aided design (CAD) systems. Sketchpad was a significant leap forward in computer graphics and human-computer interaction, influencing the development of subsequent graphical user interfaces and design tools. It showcased the potential of computers as interactive devices for creative work, its impact can still be seen in modern design software and user interfaces. #inspiration #sketchpad #techinnovation #designtools #computergraphics #cad #dev #mata
