Last week, we had the privilege of hosting students from Edge Hill University at our Support Hub and Distribution Centre. It was a great opportunity for them to explore our operations and gain insights into our work. During the visit, they had the chance to connect with a former student, Rebecca Zdrenka, who generously shared her career progression post-graduation. Today is International Men’s Day – a day to proudly celebrate and support our everyday family heroes. At Matalan, we’re proud to launch our Men’s Health Network – a space dedicated to our colleagues, raising awareness, fostering conversations, and supporting the men in our teams and communities. Here are some hard-hitting facts to reflect on: • 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. • 3 out of 4 suicides are men, highlighting the urgent need for better mental health support. • Testicular cancer is the most common cancer among men aged 15-49. These numbers remind us why talking, listening, and acting is crucial. The Men’s Health Network will provide a safe space with resources, conversations, and a sense of community for our colleagues, helping them feel supported in all aspects of their health.
