Normally I spend the majority of my posts sharing stories from India but today I wanted to take the opportunity to shout one of the UK team team, who without them my job would truly be impossible. Meet Alyssa Kang, she is Materra's Senior Impact Analysis and manages all our GHG and water strategy and assessment. Since joining the company she has transformed the way we work, enabling data driven decision making at all levels and helped us provide higher quality support to farmers. I feel at points over 80% of my conversations with brands and other stakeholders is just presenting her calculations and analysis 😅 . So thank you Alyssa for pushing so hard to build the best calculations you can and for your endless patience with all the challenges of collecting live data directly from farmers based in another country. ------------ P.S. Who doesn't love being presented with #flowers? One fun and rewarding side of running workshops in field with #farmers is receiving mini flower bouquets as a welcome gift. One a recent trip to one of Materra's farm clusters I had the opportunity to meet a group of local farmers to learn how their first year of transitioning to #regenerativefarming had gone. On arrival our team were presented with these 4 flower bouquets created from flowers and foliages sourced the surrounding #farms. A core pillar to regenerative farming that differentiates from other approaches is a solid foundation in local knowledge and collaboration.
