Over the years we have built a strong working relationship with BAE Systems and currently have two live projects in Barrow and Glasgow which have involved both our Construction and Civils teams. In collaboration with a number of our trusted supply chain partners, we been shortlisted for Ground Engineering Magazine Awards. In BAE Barrow, our work with Amentum, Skanska and BAE Systems has been shortlisted in the Technical Excellence category. Working together to create an innovative soil exchange methodology, this project defines how our employees collaborate with experts both internally and externally to deliver excellent outcomes for our clients. The Janet Harvey Hall, under construction at the BAE Govan site has also been shortlisted for Team of the Year. Celebrating the collaboration between McLaughlin & Harvey, Robert Bird Group, Aarsleff Piling and Byland Engineering Limited, the award recognises the joint efforts in unlocking opportunities to reduce project cost and reduce carbon footprint. We are proud of the innovative and collaborative work our teams undertake every day to unlock the potential of our projects. Congratulations to our site teams and partners.

It's British Science Week! Last week, we had the pleasure of visiting Bearsden Primary School to deliver a STEM session to Primary 4. Pupils were tasked with building a wheelbarrow with the MTa STEM kit, encouraging them to work collaboratively and develop their design, problem-solving, creativity and presenting skills. Each group nominated a project manager, sketched a design, and created a wheelbarrow model using their STEM kit. It ended with some friendly competition of an assault course to see if their wheelbarrow design was functional. Our involvement with STEM activities is more than just a series of activities; it’s a chance to inspire young minds and hopefully encourage a love for science in the next generation. #BSW25 #STEM

📷 Project Update 📷 Earlier this year, we completed phase one of our project with the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) at Culham Science Centre. Having completed the main building, garage, and security, our team started the second phase of works at the beginning of February. This phase will further develop campus security, outdoor spaces, and landscaping. The development of Culham Science Centre aims to make the campus a leading global centre for fusion technology and the realisation of fusion energy. 📚 Today is World Book Day 📚 Our Responsible Business team is visiting schools and nurseries, including Abbots Hall Primary Academy, Arthur Bugler Primary School and Dundee Nature Kindergarten, to read books from Jenny Bailey’s Tales from Mother Earth series. As part of our commitment to fostering a love for reading, we have donated 165 copies of Stanley the Water Vole, a book from the series, to Bearsden Primary School, Dundee Bairns, and Dundee Nature Kindergarten. With growing concerns about the decline in reading and writing enjoyment among children and young people, we are proud to support Chapter One UK, an online reading volunteer programme that helps inspire young readers in the communities we serve and beyond. There’s no better way to build a bright future than through the power of reading! #WorldBookDay
