Let's remember to keep patients at the heart of research. Why? Not only do 80% of clinical trials face enrollment challenges, but some studies estimate that up to 20% of #participants drop out before completion. What would happen if we focused on making the trial experience less burdensome for patients? Potentially a 95% retention rate. It's crucial to prioritize #patient concerns in trial design, recognizing that each patient has unique needs and worries. If patients feel overly burdened and do not perceive the benefits as outweighing the inconveniences, the trial is likely to face difficulties. Too many #patients drop out of clinical trials! Focusing trial design on the patient and their specific needs, as well as the needs of their #caregivers and support networks, is essential for improving patient #retention. Trial design needs to avoid imposing on patients' lives or creating unnecessary inconveniences but rather, find flexibility and innovative ways to deliver. Allowing patients to participate in a location, other than the site for some visits can dramatically reduce drop out rates. As an industry we need to figure out more ways to make trials more accessible to more patients. Curious about how we can help reduce drop out rates? Click here: https://lnkd.in/dCX62B9

For patients, Home Trial Support breaks down barriers to participation such as; the ability to travel due to disease state or distance from site, ability to take time off work or find childcare, or simply liking the added safety and convenience of being at home. Patient focused trials allow patients the #flexibility of participating in trials that meet their needs, therefore, allowing sponsors to benefit from increased #recruitment and #retention rates.
