Can you spot two issues with this medical questionnaire sent to patients by the NHS? There are no descriptions for answers 2, 3 and 4 making it difficult to know exactly what clicking that score would signify. What is the difference between “Very dissatisfied” and “Not at all satisfied”? They mean practically the same thing! This example highlights the importance of accuracy and precision when it comes to questionnaires. In PROMs, issues like this may have negative consequences for the effectiveness and potentially the patient’s care. At MedQ, we ensure that all assessments are accurate and precise. #PatientAssessments #PROMs #HealthcareInnovation #PatientEmpowerment

How can collecting patient outcome measures benefit your clinical practice? 📝 Annual appraisals Gathering evidence for annual appraisals can be challenging, but MedQ simplifies this with detailed ePROMs data. Organisations like the General Medical Council and The Health and Care Professions Council recommend measuring outcomes as a standard for quality. MedQ helps you efficiently collect and analyse data, showcasing your commitment to high standards in patient care. 🤖 Automation No more manual follow-ups or constant monitoring. With MedQ, you can schedule assessments in advance, and our automated system ensures everything runs smoothly (with up to 95% patient uptake!). This enhances efficiency and allows you to focus on patient care. 📊 Marketing Using ePROMs not only improves patient care but also serves as a valuable marketing tool. MedQ makes it easy to demonstrate your clinic’s success with data-driven insights, helping you build trust and attract more patients. #healthcare #medtech #annualappraisals #proms #practiceimprovement

Watch out for the unintended consequences of green and red tickboxes in medical assessments! Research suggests that green and red tickboxes increase bias and anxiety for patients. 🔴🟢 Red = "incorrect" Green = "correct" This creates a binary view that can lead to patients thinking their health condition is either right or wrong. Imagine the feeling of unease when a patient’s response turns the box red. At MedQ, we understand that health is complex and sometimes anxiety-inducing, therefore we designed assessments that minimise emotional triggers and respect individual perspectives. #PatientEmpathy #AssessmentAnxiety

🇬🇧🇨🇭🌁🏙️
Last night, London met the Alps! 🏙️ 🏞️ The UCL School of Management proudly hosted the “STARTAlp” event, celebrating the collaboration between University College London (UCL) and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) following the memorandum of understanding between the UK and Switzerland. 🇨🇭The Ambassador of Switzerland to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Markus Leitner, who spoke at the event, emphasised the importance of such international collaborations for fostering entrepreneurial talent. The Ambassador noted: "It is great to see British and Swiss Universities spending a week together. This is an opportunity to learn from peers and a great platform to build international networks of investors and business companies…This programme fits well in the larger context of our bilateral relations and agreements that we have concluded and boosts the competitiveness of both the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Thank you very much to UCL for hosting us.” 🎿 Special guest, Charlie Raposo, a five-time British Champion from the British alpine ski team shared insights into the resilience and determination required to excel both on the slopes and in business. "The parallels between high-level athletics and entrepreneurship are striking, where both require a relentless pursuit of excellence and a robust mentality to overcome challenges," Raposo remarked. The event showcased ten startups from both universities, emphasising the strengths of combining resources and expertise to support emerging entrepreneurial ventures. This week we are in Switzerland! 🇨🇭 Big thanks to UCL and EPFL for selecting us amongst other great innovators. This superb programme has provided us the opportunity to connect with leading healthcare organisations. Stay tuned 🤫Exciting times ahead!
It's been an exciting few days for five UCL startup founders! They have travelled to Switzerland to explore new markets, tap into additional academic expertise, pursue investment opportunities, and build connections in their fields. The visit is part of our new entrepreneurship exchange programme between UCL and EPFL. The prestigious Swiss university is a hub for innovation and scientific advancement. It was a busy first leg of the trip. The UK startups who are in medtech (MedQ, TIE CAST LIMITED, Your Cue) architecture (Phyta Biodesign) and AR/VR (Scentient ) visited Swiss institutions and companies relevant to their sectors. Other highlights included a fondue networking event with HMA James Squire at the ambassador’s residence in Bern. They arrived back in the UK today, along with the five Swiss startups (BoundaryAi, Unki, Myriad Optics and NEOSENS). Thank you EPFL Startup for being wonderful hosts. We'll keep you updated on the UK leg of the programme. We're looking forward to tonight's networking event at the UCL School of Management! Andreas F.
