Mentsen

Mentsen is a London-based design practice established in 2011 and a partnership between two designers, Yasuyuki Sakurai and Risa Sano. The studio name, meaning ‘lines and surfaces’ in Japanese, references to the studio’s combined specialty in product design and art direction. Working internationally, Mentsen develop visual concepts and offer product design and art direction for businesses and cultural organisations. Our work is the result of collaborative process and mutual understanding with clients; this enables us to deliver authentic design solutions that enhance experience, influence and emotively engage the audience. Clients include Artwise, British Council, Crafts Council, Disegno Magazine, The Geffrye, The Goldsmiths’ Centre, Hand & Eye Studio, London Design Festival, Look Mum No Hands!, Roca and Zilio A&C.
