Our new Low Carbon Aluminium offerings have been developed to significantly reduce the carbon intensity associated with their manufacture:   ✳️ RecycAL 4.0 ✳️  A Low Carbon aluminium billet with a maximum carbon footprint of below 4.0kgCO2/kg aluminium. Available to all fabricators at no extra cost, across our full range of façade systems.    ✳️ RecycAL 1.9 ✳️ A Low Carbon aluminium billet offering 1.86kgCO2/kg aluminium, one of the lowest commercially available in the UK market. Manufactured with a minimum of 75% post-consumer scrap materials and currently available on a project-by-project basis. Designed by Fletcher Joseph Associates and delivered by GRAHAM Building on behalf of Greystar and Lacuna Developments, Nelson Place is an impressive 12-storey residential project located close to the Ulster University and provides a fantastic living and social environment. The prestigious student accommodation scheme offers 774 luxury en-suite and studio rooms and includes a sky lounge with panoramic city views, a bookable hosting kitchen for dinner parties, study rooms, a cinema room, a games room and even a rooftop running track! Student Roost’s Nelson Place property was designed to meet the current building standards and is an exemplar Purpose Built Managed Student Accommodation (PBMSA) scheme that incorporates a zero-carbon energy strategy and high-performance building envelope. The 245,000 sq ft student residence delivers a BREEAM Very Good and EPC ‘A’ rating and in 2024, gained a Gold Green Apple Environment Award. Lacuna Developments also picked up Commercial Development of the Year for Nelson Place at the Belfast Telegraph Property Awards 2024. Metal Technology Ltd's architectural glazing systems were specified for the project and installed by approved fabricator, Turkington Windows and Conservatories, delivering the necessary thermal requirements (a u-value of 1.4w/m2k) across the built glazed façade and onerous acoustic performance due to its city centre location and nearby motorway. STUNNING NEW LEARNING SPACE FOR ROYAL VETERINARY COLLEGE STUDENTS The Student Learning Centre at the Royal Veterinary College’s Hawkshead Campus is the largest single capital development project in the institution’s history, comprising teaching labs, a library, a main lecture theatre, communal areas, and informal social learning spaces. A range of Metal Technology Ltd’s high-performance, architectural glazing products were expertly installed by fabricator Duplus Architectural Systems Ltd, to help meet the development’s stringent energy efficient standards. The project was dual colour white powder coat inside and bronze anodised externally. The Hawkshead Campus, situated in Herefordshire, is where veterinary medicine students are based for the final three years of their course, alongside veterinary nursing students and specialists-in-training. The new Student Learning Centre advances veterinary education and research while fostering a vibrant student community. Metal Technology Ltd recently had the pleasure of attending Antrim Grammar School's Annual Interview Skills Day for upper sixth pupils. Our Operations Director, Bryan Massey, was part of a group of guest interviewers from a range of companies and organisations across different sectors. Bryan interviewed pupils interested in a career in engineering, providing invaluable feedback on each of their performances. The process enabled pupils to gain interview experience and will help prepare them for university and potential job interviews. It was great to engage with the students and discover their interests and aspirations for the future.
