Last week the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, visited Tenmat Ltd. Headquarters in #Irlam to officially open the state-of-the-art F-Lab Fire Test Centre & Training Academy. The state-of-the-art Fire Testing laboratory specialises in the development and testing of Tenmat’s cavity fire barriers and service penetration products. Andy Burnham, said: “Visiting Tenmat’s facility and new labs today, it’s clear that this is a long-term investment which will only be good for Irlam and Greater Manchester as a whole. There’s not only the economic benefit that the investment brings, but a huge social benefit here as well. It's fantastic that some of these materials will be used in the construction of homes in Salford, improving their safety. The more we can encourage the uptake of this material, the more we can help prevent fires here and across the UK.”

She met with ALICE from SingHealth, showcasing advancements in patient check-ins and robotics. The team ended the day noting the effortless, queue-free airport border control—a model in efficiency. Innovation in our city-region's materials sector is helping to build safer homes 🏢 Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham visited Tenmat Ltd. earlier this week, an Irlam-based manufacturer which makes materials with fire protection qualities used in the construction of homes and buildings. Andy was there to find out more about the company's work and open its new fire testing laboratory.
