We launched our Midland Mencap Music Project in Worcester today! Everyone had a great time playing instruments, learning songs with Makaton signs, and taking part in some musical relaxation at St. John's Library, Worcester. There were lots of smiling faces throughout and we want to thank everyone who came to join us. We can't wait for our next session and a massive thank you to Bethan Burgess for making it possible!

Today, Midland Mencap's CEO Dave Rogers and Ashleigh Jones joined Kathryn Stanczyszyn on BBC Radio WM to discuss the Government’s proposed changes to welfare benefits, particularly concerning the Work Capability Assessment and Personal Independence Payments (PIP). In the Interview, they spoke about: Costs: Dave explained how living with a disability can mean an extra £1,000 a month, so any cut will be tough on people. Real Impact: Ashleigh, who has Cerebral Palsy and Autism, said she couldn’t sleep after hearing how these changes might affect her. Information Gap: It’s disappointing there isn’t any easy read information yet, leaving many people unsure about what’s happening.
