About us
Migrant Help exists to protect people affected by displacement and exploitation, helping them thrive as individuals and recover from their trauma. We support those most in need and least likely to find support elsewhere, whilst aiming to bridge community gaps and bring services and support together. We offer support and guidance to people seeking asylum, refugees and survivors of modern slavery across the UK. Whether someone has fled persecution, escaped from slavery or found themselves in a situation that they do not understand, Migrant Help offers advice, support and a place of safety. We are proud of our diverse and committed staff team. We currently employ people from more than 40 countries. Many of our advisers come from refugee backgrounds and have gone through the asylum process or experienced human trafficking themselves. These dedicated people contribute their skills and experience to help us provide high quality, innovative services that seek to meet the needs of the vulnerable men, women and children we support.

A gang exploited 16 vulnerable Czech victims, forcing them to work at a McDonald's branch in Cambridgeshire and a bakery supplying major UK supermarkets. Despite clear signs of modern slavery and exploitation, the abuse went undetected by McDonald's and the supermarkets for more than four years. This heartbreaking case is a stark reminder that slavery can be found everywhere—though, unlike this case, it is often hidden. There are around 100,000 victims in the UK alone. If more of us become aware of the signs of modern slavery and how to report it, more victims can be rescued from harm, and we can weaken the criminal networks behind this exploitation. To learn the signs of modern slavery, visit the Coalition to Stop Slavery's website here - https://lnkd.in/eYvA_sUT #EndModernSlavery #EndHumanTrafficking #ModernSlavery #HumanTrafficking

Join our FREE online conference (Wednesday 16 October | ⏰ 15:30 – 17:00) to find out all you need to know about our free Schools Programme and how this offering could benefit your students. 👉 Register for your FREE tickets now: https://lnkd.in/ed-3TdA3 "And I hope that you remember today for many years to come,” a powerful closing statement from our CEO, Caroline O’Connor, at our June event in Birmingham, where we celebrated the one-year anniversary of our schools programme. Children and young adults have often not yet fully formed their opinions around issues of displaced people—views that, once formed, may stay with them for a lifetime. Our School Programme helps support you in challenging the mindset of young people in the UK and promoting positive discussion around these issues. The program aims to dispel myths and encourage thought discussions about welcoming people from outside the UK through tailored workshops and assemblies in schools, catering to various age groups. #RefugeesWelcome #SupportPeopleSeekingAsylum #SchoolsProgramme

In the 1960s, thousands of South Asian families moved to West Yorkshire for jobs in mills and factories, helping to rebuild post-war Britain. While the contributions of men are well documented, the women's stories have often been overlooked. A new and important book, 'Our Heritage 2', aims to change this by highlighting the experiences of immigrant women from Batley, West Yorkshire, specifically those of Gujarati Indian Muslim heritage. These women faced language barriers, harsh weather, and racism as they adapted to a new life. Their strength and resilience are now being rightfully celebrated in this crucial work, ensuring that their inspiring stories are finally shared. 🎉 #CelebrateImmigration #HiddenHistories #ImmigrantStories
