We are pleased to announce that Miller has been shortlisted for two awards at the inaugural Parametric Insurer’s award ceremony. On the 30th of October this year, the Insurer are hosting the inaugural parametric conference, followed by a parametric awards ceremony in the evening.  We are pleased to announce that we have been shortlisted for two awards: 1. Parametric Broking Team of the year  2. Parametric Broker of the year This is a fantastic recognition of the hard work and commitment of our Parametric team. A massive well done and good luck to Alice Glenister MSc ACII on being shortlisted for the Parametric Broker of the year. Here’s hoping for two wins on awards night! 

Last Tuesday Miller hosted a fantastic event at Flight Club Shoreditch with the delegates attending the Lloyds Broker Academy this week. Lloyd’s Broker Academy is an annual week-long event run by Lloyd’s. The delegates are hand selected by their respective US and Canadian intermediary firms and throughout the program they learn about the London market, gaining access to underwriters, brokers and key individuals in the industry, through workshops, talks, shadowing and social events. It was an excellent evening of networking and darts and we’re excited to build these relationships further in the future! Check out the winning team below ⬇️

At Miller, we recognise how diversity brings benefits to our people, our clients and our business. That’s why last week, we were excited to host a ‘Diversity in Football’ panel as part of our Black History Month celebrations. The room was filled with great energy and the conversations were full of fresh insights. Featured on our panel was Matt Murray, a respected figure in football known for his impressive career as a goalkeeper for Wolverhampton Wanderers. His expertise and commitment to the sport have led him to a successful career in broadcasting, where he is often seen sharing his insights on Sky Sports. Matt’s passion extends beyond the pitch as he is a vocal advocate for diversity and inclusion in football and beyond, using his platform to champion change. Alongside Matt was High Performance Psychologist, Melissa Dhillon who has a rich background in football and tennis and Ed Bowers, the host of Sports Career Podcast. They brought a fresh perspective to the table, underlining the significance of diversity in sport and why its important to stay true to yourself. Miller, the independent specialist (re)insurance broker, is pleased to announce the appointment of Satoshi Watanabe to its Japanese business, Lead Insurance Services Limited (Lead), as it continues to scale and diversify its offering in the Japanese market. Satoshi joins as a Business Development Manager with a particular responsibility for expanding the broker’s non-marine arm. He will report to Tokinori Kono, Lead’s Head of Non-Marine Broking, who joined the business in June 2024 to help drive the build-out of Miller’s specialty capabilities in the region. Satoshi joins from Marsh Soken, part of Marsh Japan, where he worked since 2019 and achieved a strong track record of business development in non-life insurance. He began his career with NiKKO Cordial Securities and also spent three years in a business development role at AIG General Insurance. The appointment reflects Miller’s continued commitment to the Japanese market and the success of the acquisition of Lead in supporting Miller’s long-term growth aspirations in the region.
