It was an honor to attend the 150th anniversary of Guglielmo Marconi, the visionary who made information travel through nothingness, laying the foundation for wireless communication. Imagining our world without his groundbreaking achievements is truly humbling. I had the privilege to engage with other fellow panelists, including Mansoor Hanif, Durga Malladi, Hari Balakrishnan, Federico Suria, Pietro Caminiti, and Sir Nigel Shadbolt, under the expert moderation of Karen Silverman. Our discussion centered around the transformation from the app economy to the agentic economy, highlighting the importance of developing and operating responsibly to ensure a fair and equitable physical-digital world for all. It was enriching to be in the company of such thought leaders, along with legendary visionaries like vint cerf, Andrea Goldsmith, Vicente San Miguel Maza and Paul Berriman, who continue to shape the future. The gala dinner at the stunning Palazzo Re Enzo was equally memorable. Sharing a table with the legendary Martin Cooper (inventor of the cell phone), Federico Faggin (inventor of the microprocessor), and Siavash Alamouti (inventor of the Alamouti Code) was not just a privilege, but an inspiring experience that gave me goosebumps. It was a surreal moment to realize that we at mimik, are the inventor of the Hybrid Edge Cloud, was a sponsor of this event—an event that carries forward Marconi’s spirit of innovation. A heartfelt thank you to John Janowiak, Marconi Society team, Fondazione Guglielmo Marconi, and Giulia Fortunato, for leading such a meaningful event.
