Equinix has signed its second renewable energy Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in Singapore with Sembcorp Power, securing an additional 58.5 MWp of solar energy from JTC’s properties on Jurong Island, starting in 2029. This follows an earlier agreement for 75 MWp, bringing the total to 133.5 MWp to power Equinix’s data centers, significantly reducing its carbon footprint. The solar energy will be generated from 60 hectares of land and the rooftops of five JTC buildings, aligning with Singapore's sustainability goals and the government's vision for Jurong Island as a sustainable energy hub.
