Fantastic to host the steel band Solid Steel outside the Leadenhall Building today, as they brought the sounds of the Caribbean to the City.   For our colleagues in the office, we also served a selection of delicious Jamaican Patties, from jerk chicken to curried goat.   Next week, we’re looking forward to welcoming leading historian, broadcaster and author, Professor David Olusoga, who will be giving a flagship lecture about what it means to be Black in Britain today. Look out for an update.    #BlackHistoryMonth

Our Credit and Political Risk Team recently returned to Hampstead Heath for another rewarding volunteer day in collaboration with our long-time partners, Heath Hands. This marks three years of working together to support vital wildlife conservation and habitat protection efforts. This time, the team focused on creating safe breeding spaces for grass snakes and preparing areas where other wildlife can hibernate over the colder months. We were also delighted to be joined by our colleagues from BPL, making it not just a day of giving back, but also an opportunity to reconnect. CEO of MS Amlin Asia Pacific, William Ho, recently caught up with Steve Evans, Editor-In-Chief of Artemis.bm, to discuss our innovative Phoenix ILS offering.   In this engaging interview, William reflects on Phoenix’s differentiating focus on Asia, its strong track record and performance, and the desire to partner with investors to develop ILS in Asia for the long-term.    Some key takeaways from the interview: ➡️Diversification for investors: “This doesn’t cover peak zone US, Japan or Europe – this [portfolio] is pure Asia natural catastrophe perils exposure.” ➡️Phoenix’s track record: “We’ve had four years of transactions, raised over $160m, averaging between 8 and 9% return on capital.” ➡️Underwriting performance: “We’ve ceded over $30m of premiums with less than $1m dollars of claims over a four-year period.” ➡️Partnering for the long-term: Phoenix is not a capacity driven transaction for us. This is a desire to have partners for the long-term.” ➡️Developing ILS in Asia: “We want to help investors be first movers in this area. We want to develop ILS in Asia and help mature that segment of the market in this region.”    Watch the video below as William talks about the strong results generated for investors so far. Our thanks to Steve for having William on Artemis Live.    #AsiaILS #AsianMarkets #InnovativeFinance #ILS
