About us

Founded in 2007 by Tyler Brûlé, Monocle is a leading global media brand that covers international affairs, business, culture, design, and much more. Beyond its monthly magazine, Monocle operates an around-the-clock radio station (Monocle Radio), produces a range of podcasts, books, and films, and has a growing network of retail shops and cafés worldwide. Headquartered in London and Zürich, with bureaux in Paris, Milan, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles, and correspondents in 38 markets, Monocle is dedicated to delivering sharp journalism and carefully curated products for a global audience. Monocle is published 10 times per year and sold in 80 countries. In addition to the monthly magazine, Monocle publishes annual specials, including travel magazine The Escapist, and seasonal newspapers. Monocle is on sale in 80 countries worldwide and has shops in London, Zürich, Merano, Toronto, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, travel retail stores at Hong Kong Airport and Frankfurt Airport, and cafés in London and Zürich.
