Earlier this year, our charity committee launched an exciting initiative: monthly Dress Down Fridays to support charities chosen by our colleagues with a new charity selected each quarter. We're thrilled to share that the first three events have raised an impressive £400 for Crohn's & Colitis UK! Crohn's & Colitis UK is dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, providing support, funding research, and raising awareness of these often-hidden, life-impacting conditions. We're proud to contribute to their mission through our team's fundraising efforts. To find out more visit their website👇 https://lnkd.in/egttGz4X We can't wait to see which charities our team will choose in the coming months. #Moorcrofts #DressDownFriday #Charity #TeamSpirit #CrohnsAndColitisUK

In today's Budget, the Chancellor Rachel Reeves has announced an increase in Capital Gains Tax (CGT), a move we anticipated and have been preparing our clients for. The good news? The implementation plan is staggered over the next three years, making the transition more manageable than expected. Here's what you need to know: New Rates ➡ Lower rate: Increasing from 10% to 18% ➡ Higher rate: Rising from 20% to 24% ➡ Business Asset Disposal Relief (BADR): Remains unchanged until April 2025, then will increase from 10% to 14%, and to 18% in April 2026. If you’re considering selling your business, now is the time to act if you want to take advantage of BADR before the changes take effect. With these changes on the horizon, it's crucial to plan ahead to maximise your returns. At Moorcrofts LLP, our expert team is here to guide you through this transition. If you're contemplating a business sale, contact a member of our team for an initial discussion about the changes and what they could mean for you - we're here to help! The Employment Rights Bill is set to bring some of the most significant updates to workplace regulations we’ve seen in years. Designed to create fairer, more secure, and flexible work environments, these reforms will impact everything from job security to dispute resolution processes. However, much of the detail is deferred to future legislation, and there’s no confirmed date for implementation. While some reports suggest the reforms could take effect by October 2026, uncertainty remains. Our Employment team has outlined the key provisions of the new reforms.
