Are Company Values a reflection or an intention. Over my career I have worked in a large business where the values were more of a reflection and therefore easily recognised and defined. This was due to the exercise never being attempted earlier in the business. I have also worked in a large business where the values were just fancy words on lanyards and walls and there was zero evidence of anyone living by then or being judged against them. I have yet to work in a business that used them at the start as intentions... until now. At Moove as a start up we are firmly in the "setting intentions" camp as we look to establish the right behaviours and the framework to operate so that our culture will be as asset to us in the future. We have a large task ahead of ourselves to establish the business in a very large fragmented market which contains some giant companies with very entrenched positions. The phrase I have heard a few time is that the big guys have "deep pockets", so I feel it's of huge importance to set our intentions early for the the task ahead and start as we mean to go on. We settled on five values which I feel can enable us to achieve success if we stay true to them. Our first sale method we launched this year is what we call Virtual Agent. We have build the infrastructure of a traditional estate agent and then digitised it, not unlike what has happened in banking and travel. An individual now has the ability to upload their own house, have access to agent tools like online property portals and also interact with buyers on viewings and offers. We have grand plans for new offerings coming soon, but its great to see this starting to be adopted. Our bet is that one day we will look at the property market and most people will feel confident enough to sell their own property. Whilst Estate Agents will still exist for those who lack the time, or inclination to do themselves. Similar to the travel market. Our second (of three) brand principles is "Faster". We want to employ digital technology, proactive problem solving and process evolution to speed things up and make buying and selling property FASTER. Over the last decade and a half in England, it has become twice as long to sell a property, as measured by instruction of an EA to completion, which we find unacceptable. Whilst there are some political factors which have not helped, especially in the last decade, we also think there has been a lack of focus on making it FASTER for all parties involved. Today we have launched two new ways to list your property on our platform. Firstly, if you want to simply list your property without any thrills you can now do that for free! We will enable you to upload all your details, reach out to potential buyers looking in your area and provide you will all the analytics to help you secure that Sale. Our Plus product also launches which starts to power up your listing and allow you to tap into other services which will increase the exposure of your listing and drive more interest. This will make your property sale likely Faster but we won't force you to upgrade. Under our brand value of Fairness we believe that we should be upfront with our charges and offer a choice. We charge for the Pro package quite simply because using those services will incur costs for us. We don't believe in commission so if you can achieve more for your property then you should retain more! Our costs would be the same so we should inform the seller of the cost upfront and that should not change. #proptech #sellyourhouse #realestate
