G'DAY AUSTRALIA What an exciting few weeks we've had at Mountain Warehouse. We've gone down under and opened 2 new stores. Our first store in Brisbane opened on Saturday 13th July, shortly followed by our first Melbourne store in early August. As you will see from our Brisbane opening video, the teams are ready and waiting to welcome you to our new Mountain Warehouse store!    We can't wait to grow in the Australian market and have so much more planned. Nurturing early careers and developing talent is important to us here at Mountain Warehouse. We are excited to share that last week marked the end of our Mountain Warehouse x Career Ready 2024 Internship. This internship supported 14 students understand more about retail careers and the skills that drive successful careers. All interns had the opportunity to shadow roles within Head Office, visit our DC, work in our stores and attend many development and insight sessions. To finalise the internship, we had a Graduation Celebration Day which included the students presenting their internship projects. The presentations and business topics were outstanding. Two students were awarded continuous development support around retail careers, for their excellent projects and contribution to the internship. We could not be prouder of our interns for all their hard work and efforts and look forward to hearing all about their continued and future career successes.

Our buying team recently embarked on a trip to China to meet with some of our amazing suppliers. This trip was particularly special as it was our first buying trip to the Far East since the global pandemic. Eleven team members headed off from London to Beijing and Shanghai all within 12 days. Despite the inevitable jet lag, the trip was very productive and highlighted the importance of meeting our suppliers face-to-face. The journey from the initial design to final product is a long one and can take up 6 months so it was inspiring to see our new winter products on the production line. We saw everything from waterproof jackets and trousers to hiking boots and socks, as well as recycled water bottles and rucksacks being made in real-time. The trip ended with some presentations from new suppliers on innovative ways of developing our products in the future. We can’t wait to get back there! #buyingtrip #retail #retailbuying #outdoorretail #buying #businesstravel #worktrip

We’re excited and proud to announce our partnership with Stella for menopause, which provides personalised menopause support, advice, and care via an app. Almost a quarter of our colleagues are within the typical age range of experiencing menopausal or perimenopausal symptoms and these symptoms can be incredibly difficult to manage whilst at work. Our inclusive menopause policy advocates an open and honest culture where colleagues feel empowered and comfortable to talk about menopause, as well as encouraging our teams to think about adjustments they can make to support their colleagues. “We’re absolutely embracing menopause at Mountain Warehouse. Managing menopause and perimenopause symptoms can be challenging, it’s hugely important that we can talk about it and give support wherever it is needed.
