Move On Wood Recycling
Non-profit Organizations
We provide the best environmental option for wood waste and reclaimed timber, furniture and fittings.
About us
We help our corporate clients to reduce waste and fulfil their corporate social responsibility goals. We aim to provide the best environmental option for dealing with wood waste: our timber collection service is cost-effective and we reuse as much as possible through resale as timber, furniture and fittings. We also provide a full service from design to creation and installation of custom furniture and fittings using reclaimed wood. As well as promoting the circular economy, we provide sustainable jobs, training and volunteering opportunities for local people, especially those who might find it difficult to get into or back to employment.

On set last week collecting waste wood for SISTER productions and their upcoming thriller due to be broadcast on ITV. For this job we used a bigger capacity lorry, collecting set builds that were formerly used to construct the internals of two whole houses🏡. This job took us three days, 3 lorry loads and 6 van loads, totalling 155 tonnes of waste wood collected and diverted from landfill. A monumental effort for our small team 💪🏻 We transported this back to our storage space where it will be repurposed by our Granton neighbours at The Pitt in Edinburgh♻️. #zerowaste #circulareconomy Community Wood Recycling

We are delighted to announce we have received a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland, made possible by National Lottery players, to deliver Community Woodwork Skills workshops across North Edinburgh over the next two years. Our workshops will help local people to build practical skills, self-confidence, and gain social networks in our workshop. Sessions will include the opportunity to become familiar with and safely use a variety of woodworking tools, design and build their own furniture. 🔍Read the full announcement on our news blog: https://lnkd.in/epEFf-a5 #NationalLottery

This #Recycleweek we are delighted to announce a generous donation of approximately 2400 used scaffold boards from Taziker to our social enterprise. This stock will be an invaluable asset to our operations and continued efforts to offer a sustainable and environmental alternative for surplus and waste. 👉To break this down, that means 8900m of scaffold boards have been diverted from landfill, out of this we could build 💥1236 standard tables! Iain from Taziker has commented: “The Taziker team is thrilled to contribute to such a wonderful initiative in Move On. It is fantastic to see that surplus scaffold boards from site will be repurposed into furniture, while also providing valuable training and experience for local young people, which is a source of pride for all of us. I hope this donation can inspire others to do the same.”

Continuing our support of World Mental Health Day, our health and wellbeing group encouraged our teams to sit and have a bit of time away from our desks. The time was spent having some breakfast, bonding and sharing anxieties! It is always important to take time away and allow yourself to connect with those around you ❤️🧠 #WMHD2024
