We are entering into one of most important times of the year to minimise waste – Christmas! We also recognise this as a hugely busy period for businesses. Our waste wood collections service is an eco-friendly alternative to skip-hire and has been helping businesses across hospitality, production, festivals and construction to dispose of their waste in a sustainable way. We collect a range of waste timber from pallets, construction timber, wooden furniture or general waste timber that we sell as reclaimed timber in our shop or upcycle into bespoke furniture. 📑Book regular or one off collections for your business on 0131 551 6937 / wood@moveon.org.uk or request a quote here: https://lnkd.in/eUNVGG9V Collections fees: https://lnkd.in/epuu5Cxa
Move On Wood Recycling
Non-profit Organizations
We provide the best environmental option for wood waste and reclaimed timber, furniture and fittings.
About us
We help our corporate clients to reduce waste and fulfil their corporate social responsibility goals. We aim to provide the best environmental option for dealing with wood waste: our timber collection service is cost-effective and we reuse as much as possible through resale as timber, furniture and fittings. We also provide a full service from design to creation and installation of custom furniture and fittings using reclaimed wood. As well as promoting the circular economy, we provide sustainable jobs, training and volunteering opportunities for local people, especially those who might find it difficult to get into or back to employment.

Great to have a young volunteer from Volunteering Matters in our workshop and gaining some practical experience and skills!
Huge shoutout to one of the young people in our Brighter Futures programme, who has been volunteering at the Move On Wood Recycling Centre in Granton, Edinburgh! Together with support from Jane in our team, they’ve been working hard to prepare recycled lumber for the charity’s furniture shop. Through this hands-on experience, they’re gaining valuable skills and making a positive impact! Our Brighter Futures programme offers young people in S2–S4 access to meaningful volunteering experiences with local charities, tailored 1:1 support, and inspiring mentoring relationships. We’re thrilled to help young people broaden their horizons, build confidence, develop new skills, and find a true sense of belonging. On set last week collecting waste wood for SISTER productions and their upcoming thriller due to be broadcast on ITV. For this job we used a bigger capacity lorry, collecting set builds that were formerly used to construct the internals of two whole houses🏡. This job took us three days, 3 lorry loads and 6 van loads, totalling 155 tonnes of waste wood collected and diverted from landfill. A monumental effort for our small team 💪🏻 We transported this back to our storage space where it will be repurposed by our Granton neighbours at The Pitt in Edinburgh♻️. #zerowaste #circulareconomy Community Wood Recycling

This #Recycleweek we are delighted to announce a generous donation of approximately 2400 used scaffold boards from Taziker to our social enterprise. This stock will be an invaluable asset to our operations and continued efforts to offer a sustainable and environmental alternative for surplus and waste. 👉To break this down, that means 8900m of scaffold boards have been diverted from landfill, out of this we could build 💥1236 standard tables! Iain from Taziker has commented: “The Taziker team is thrilled to contribute to such a wonderful initiative in Move On. It is fantastic to see that surplus scaffold boards from site will be repurposed into furniture, while also providing valuable training and experience for local young people, which is a source of pride for all of us. I hope this donation can inspire others to do the same.”
