It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our friend and colleague, Jo Peters, a visionary geneticist whose work in mammalian genetics and genomic imprinting had a profound impact on the field. Jo was also a generous mentor, shaping the careers of countless students and colleagues with her wisdom, patience, and kindness. We will forever remember her sharp intellect, her warmth, and her humour. https://lnkd.in/dPEYbUuP

The UK’s national facility for mouse genetics and the use of mouse models for the pre-clinical study of human disease.
About us
At the Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell, we are working to improve our understanding of human disease through the study of mouse models and providing mouse genetics services to scientists around the world. These services cover all aspects of preclinical disease modelling in mice, including mouse model generation, a wide array of phenotyping tests, and archiving and distribution services. We adhere to the highest welfare standards and are proactively committed to implementing the 3Rs for the benefit of mouse health and welfare, while also improving the quality of the scientific data generated. MRC Harwell is also home to the Advance training centre, which delivers our world-class practical and theoretical training courses and has labs and training rooms available to hire.
