About us
Autonomous vehicle platforms enabling applications of autonomy and AI. Accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), this mature and unique course offers a combination of subjects much sought after in the autonomous vehicle (robotics vehicle platforms; aerial robotics, ground robotics, maritime robotics) industry and not covered in a single MSc course anywhere else. Successful graduates of our MSc course become conversant in key aspects of autonomy which places them at an advantage in today's competitive employment market. This course provides engineering, physics or mathematics graduates with the advanced skills which can be applied to the security, defence, marine, environmental and aerospace industries. The course also offers students to complete a remote pilot competency course, ackowledged by the UK Civil Aviation Authority. A really exciting and fruitful, in terms of business visits and research networking, week passed in Abu Dhabi #UAE. Participating in a very busy #IROS2024 conference where I was honored to be invited to co-organise (and present in) an special session with exceptional colleagues Lounis Adouane Philippe Martinet Antonios Tsourdos on safe navigation. In this session we also had an important presentation on the industry perspective by Umar Zakir Abdul Hamid. Led various Cranfield related promotional visits to educational entities including promotion of our Centre’s MSc programmes (MSc Autonomous Vehicle Dynamics & Control incl.) and I was also invited to present a guest lecture on #control and #autonomoussystems topic at Amity University Dubai (hosted by Efstratios Ntantis PhD). Thank you Anthony Tzes for the very informative tour at the New York University Abu Dhabi robotics labs you lead and the exceptional work taking place there, and of course having the opportunity to catch up after all this time. Thank you Elias Tsoutsanis for hosting my visit to TII we had a great discussion on potential future collaboration. A very busy yet unforgettable time in the UAE. Cranfield University
