A successful week for Munro Building Services! 🏆 🎉 👏 Another heartfelt congratulations goes out to our Trainee Project Engineer, Courtney Northrop. On Wednesday evening, Courtney was announced the winner of Cambridge Forum for the Construction Industry (CFCI) Apprentice of the Year Award. She was supported by our Andrew Cocksedge & Charlotte Heavey as well as Pipe Centre's Laura Robinson at the Greater Cambridge Design & Construction Awards 2025. Courtney is currently completing her degree apprenticeship in Building Services Design Engineering. Since starting with us in May last year, she has progressed exponentially, produced work to a very high quality, and is always going the extra mile. Courtney has recently been appointed her first project to run and no doubt she will succeed with this new challenge. We are a very proud employer and glad that Courtney has been recognised for her hard work, commitment and contribution to our business as well as making a change and stand for women in construction. Thank you to CFCI for hosting such a lovely evening, it was great to celebrate and recognise the fantastic work that is being produced in Cambridge. Well done to all who were nominated and congratulations to those who won. #CFCI #ApprenticeoftheYear #degreeapprenticeship #constructionindustry #awards #womeninconstruction #buildingservices #apprenticeship #cambridge

Our Apprentice of the Year for 2024/25 has been announced! Congratulations to James Monks, a Quantity Surveyor who works for Munro Building Services who completed his level 4 construction quantity surveying technician apprenticeship in January 2024 and is now working towards a level 6 degree apprenticeship. The judges were particularly impressed with James’s vision for his future career as a commercial manager and how he intends to use that platform to influence how sustainability is embedded in decision making throughout construction projects. Congratulations to our James Monk who was named The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Apprentice of the Year 2024/25 earlier this week 🏆 🎉 . James is one of our Intermediate Quantity Surveyors who has completed his Level 4 Construction Quantity Surveying Technician Apprenticeship and is now working towards his Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship. He was shortlisted to the top 3 out of 12 applicants, and then had to deliver a 30 minute presentation on driving sustainability in the built environment to a panel of judges. He demonstrated competence as a quantity surveyor with a comprehensive understanding of the issues that the construction industry faces with regards to sustainability and environmental impact. James hopes to inspire others to pursue an apprenticeship so they can experience the same transformative benefits that he has been fortunate enough to have with achieving the CIOB Apprentice of the Year award. As your employer, we are very proud of your achievement, James and we look forward to seeing how you continue to progress and develop in your career with us. Well done! 👏 #CIOB #apprenticeoftheyear #quantitysurveying #apprentice #degreeapprenticeship #awards #constructionindustry #buildingservices #cambridge

Here at Munro, we are very proud of the amazing and talented women who work hard, whether their expertise is in engineering, estimating, finance, health and safety or administration. We thank you for your continual hard work, effort and dedication. Let us continue to uplift and support women in construction, honour their contributions and champion their growth. To all of the women in construction: thank you for your hard work and dedication, and for playing a vital role in reshaping the future of our industry. This week we shine a spotlight on a few individuals who share their thoughts on being a woman in construction. #WomenInConstructionWeek #WIC #BuildingServices #WomenOnTheTools #WomenInConstruction #InternationalWomensDay

We’d like to thank West Suffolk College Cambridge Regional College ECA - Excellence in Electrotechnical and Engineering Services Rexel and Pipe Centre for supporting us as well as the Munro staff who were a part of the evening too. BREAKING NEWS 📣 To follow up on the success of our Charity Golf Day back in September last year, there was some drama we didn’t tell you all about... Inevitably after spending the day together Andrew Cocksedge & Dave Quinney had a slight disagreement and let’s just say one thing led to another. It’s resulted in our Director Andy, getting into a spot of bother and on the 27th February 2025 he will be locked up at East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) in Milton and will have 5 hours to raise his bail. Andy is understandably embarrassed, albeit not regretful of his actions and would really appreciate your support to get him released! We will be sharing his Just Giving page on the Thursday 27th February so watch this space… #charityjailorbail #fundraisingevent #EACH #miltonhospice #jailorbail #cambridge #corporateconvict
