We recently caught up with one of our Museum Transformers from Cromarty Courthouse Museum. Freya Samuel, Digital Curator at the museum spoke to us about the work the museum is doing to address colonial narratives through their Built on Slavery audio tour. The walking tour guides visitors through the town of Cromarty and uncovers the connections between the local buildings and history and their ties to the transatlantic slave trade. 🎧The tour is currently on as part of Scotland's #BlackHistoryMonth programme which you can find here: https://buff.ly/3fzUtk5 ⭐Find out more about the Delivering Change: Museum Transformers programme on our website: https://buff.ly/40kdiNG

👣 We recently partnered with deskbird to better understand the climate impact of our commuting patterns. Due to our hybrid working policies, the results showed that our carbon emissions were 3.6 times lower than they would be if MGS staff commuted to the office daily. Learn more about the findings in this article: https://lnkd.in/eJ_yFgMb
🌍💡 A smarter way to drive sustainability with deskbird 💡🌍 Did you know that employee commutes can be a hidden contributor to your organization's carbon footprint? 🚗💨 For Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS), this often-overlooked source of emissions was a key focus in their commitment to sustainability. So, they partnered with deskbird to dig deeper into the data and make a difference. 💡 Already aligned with Scotland's ambitious Net Zero initiative, MGS wanted to track and reduce the carbon emissions tied to their team's commuting. That's where deskbird came in! Using deskbird, MGS gained valuable insights into commuting patterns and their environmental impact, allowing them to refine their sustainability strategy. 🌱 The findings? In just one month, the data revealed that MGS employees generated an estimated 123.649 kg of CO2e. But here's the powerful part: those emissions were 3.6 times lower than if the team had commuted to the office daily. 🚀 This highlighted the real impact of their hybrid work policies—a win for both the environment and employee well-being! ✨ But that's not all. deskbird didn't just help MGS measure carbon emissions—it made managing hybrid schedules smoother and reduced the administrative burden. With deskbird, teams can focus on what matters most: fostering flexibility, sustainability, and a happier workforce.💡🌍 🔗 Link to the complete case study in the first comment. Thanks to the entire MGS team for their collaboration, and a special mention to Lucy Kate Neville and Marek Sýkora for their fantastic work! #sustainability #hybridwork #carbonfootprint
