If you’ve set up your own Lead scoring model, you might be wondering how you can then go about using it. You might want to send a Lead through a Journey once they hit a specific score to try and keep them engaged. The form pre-fill functionality has been around for years, but for Outbound marketing. It was added to Realtime in the September 2024 update in preview. The really exciting thing about how the pre-fill works in Realtime that differs with Outbound, is that cookies are not relied on for it to work. Awesome! This means we can send out an email to a Lead or Contact with a link to a page that contains a form, and the values we want to include as pre-filled are populated based on context passed through in the URL. My good friend Jeroen Scheper wrote about the new column security profile experience that has been introduced with Wave 2 for Dynamics 365. When reviewing that, I noticed the new secured masking rules that could be added to your solution so I wanted to dig further in to how it all works. The lead scoring for Customer Insights – Journeys (D365 Marketing Real-time) has been around for a while now, but when it was first released it had a few ‘issues’ or ‘quirks’ shall we say. It’s taken me a while to write about it while waiting for those teething problems to work themselves out. Now, I will say I think it’s a valuable piece of functionality for those using Leads in Dynamics 365. It’s hard to manage and keep on top of all your leads and know which ones are most engaged or interested in your marketing communication, so assigning points to different ‘things’ they have done will help to build up a big picture of the leads. Now this one is something I tend NOT to suggest but it is definitely a request that comes up A LOT. How can I create a segment of people I can just add by picking people myself, or based on an upload file. If there isn’t any filtering criteria, you can use the Include Members feature when building your segment, but that has limits of 100 records that can be added in this way. Marketing Lists have been around for well over a decade (anyone know when they were introduced?) and are definitely still used by a LOT of organisations. If you are using Customer Insights – Journeys and did so before it became Realtime Marketing only (prior to September 2023), Outbound Marketing is still a thing for you. However, as you SHOULD know, Microsoft have announced that June 2025 is when it will truly go away for good. Hopefully you’ve already started making that transition. Once you are through the woods and using Realtime Marketing ONLY, it’s time to get Outbound hidden and make sure none of your users are going back to old habits.
